International School Brunei (ISB)’s much-anticipated Playgroup returns this term! The Playgroup will run every Friday from 2:00–4:00 pm at the ISB Bandar Campus.

The first session will be held on Friday, 23rd October 2026. Please note that available spaces are limited to ensure fun and high-quality provision. We strongly encourage families to secure their child's space before it fills up. Spaces are in high demand and fill up quickly!

International School Brunei (ISB) Secondary held a House Science Bake-Off on Wednesday, 26th August 2026.

The competition saw participants submit baked items with a science theme for assessment by a panel of judges, winning House Points and achievement points for their submissions.

Congratulations to the top three winners, namely: Maisarah, Jaja and Amani from Year 11 for Sangang Blue House in first place; Eloise and Anna from Year 11 for Beruang Yellow House and Penyu Green House in second place; and Amy and Rou Qi from Year 13 for Ingkat Red House in third place.

Well done to the top three as well as all the bakers who took part!

On Wednesday 16th September, we were delighted to welcome medical students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) to the International School Brunei (ISB) Bandar campus as part of their Dementia Awareness community project.

Pupils from across Primary and Secondary took part in a fantastic range of games and activities, all carefully planned and delivered by the UBD medical students to help increase understanding of dementia. Activities included memory games, Kahoot quizzes, and the opportunity to use virtual reality headsets to experience a simulation of how the world can be perceived by a person living with dementia.

The medical students also shared valuable information about dementia, including ways to reduce risk and some of the common symptoms to look out for.

Mrs Emily Deacon, University and Careers Counsellor at ISB, said, “The morning provided a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to learn from inspiring future doctors while developing greater understanding and empathy for people living with dementia.”

“A huge thank you to the UBD medical students, led by ISB alumna Doressa Chua, for planning such an engaging and informative morning and for helping to raise awareness of such an important topic within our school community.”

International School Brunei (ISB) would like to congratulate our boys’ and girls’ Under-18 teams for making the school proud with their excellent performances at the fourth AEWON PPE Interschool Basketball Tournament 2026!

Both teams made the school proud, with the ISB boys’ and girls’ U18 teams each earning silver for finishing second in their respective categories.

Congratulations once again to our amazing student-athletes. Well done!

Congratulations to four Year 10 students from International School Brunei (ISB) who competed in the ICDL Digital Challenge.

All four students - Aubrey, Chloe, Kasyfe, and Xander - participated in the National Round of the ICDL Digital Challenge during the July holidays.

Ms Carol Hancox, Computer Studies Teacher and Head of IT at ISB, said, "Students on the Emerging Technologies track studied two modules - Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, while the students on the Design track used 3D CAD software for a project."

Ms Hancox congratulated the students on their participation in the competition and noted that three of them had gone on to compete in the subsequent round. "Congratulations to the students making it through to the Regional Round, where they were required to submit a Project by the end of August, which will be externally assessed."

International School Brunei (ISB) officially opened the ISB Centre for Inclusive Learning (CIL) Bandar on Tuesday, 15th September 2026.

Located in Kg Sungai Hanching, Bandar Seri Begawan, the opening of ISB CIL Bandar follows the January 2021 establishment of the award-winning ISB CIL in Panaga, Kuala Belait. With a mission to nurture students who learn in different ways within a holistic and positive environment, ISB CIL is a specialist provision offering world-class support for children with Special Educational Needs.

Attending as the guest of honour was Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education (MOE). Present from the ISB Board of Directors were Mr Nicholas King, Deputy Board Chairman; Haji Rashid Abdul Razak; and Mr Roy David Kurian.

Also present were guests from the Department of Private Education and the Department of Special Education, MOE; as well as the Social Services Division and the Department of Community Development, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Also in attendance were Mr Dominic Morley, Executive Principal of ISB; Ms Vienna Law, ISB General Manager; Ms Suzie Rush, Head of Inclusion at ISB and Head of the ISB Centre for Inclusive Learning; ISB senior management and staff; and parents.

In welcoming remarks, Mr Morley said, “Today marks an important milestone for ISB and, more importantly, for the children and families we serve. This Centre reflects our commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, belong, and thrive.”

Ms Rush said in a speech, “Today, we are opening a new chapter with ISB CIL Bandar. It is a place where children can be themselves, where they can develop at their own pace, where they can discover what they can achieve, and where they can know that they belong. Because our children do not need fixing; they need understanding, opportunities and people who believe in what they can achieve. This is what ISB CIL Bandar is here to provide, because everyone can excel when difference is celebrated, and we’re proud to be different.”
