A strong literacy foundation begins with a strong home–school partnership. Our preschool recently welcomed parents of KG1 to KG3 to an engaging Jolly Phonics Workshop.
The session provided an informative introduction to the Jolly Phonics programme, where parents learned how their children are taught letter sounds through a fun and systematic approach. From mastering pure letter sounds to blending and segmenting for early reading and spelling, parents experienced first-hand how phonics comes alive in our classrooms.
Through interactive activities, actions, and songs, parents discovered practical ways to support their child’s literacy journey at home. The workshop also highlighted the importance of correct pronunciation, building confidence in early reading, and making learning enjoyable and meaningful.
Thank you to all the wonderful parents who took the time to join us. Your partnership plays a vital role in strengthening your child’s foundation in literacy.

As part of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) unit Nature of Life, our Year 3 students participated in an Entry Point activity in the form of a Nature Walk on 4th February 2026. To enhance engagement and create an immersive learning experience, all students were encouraged to wear nature explorer attire. This helped set the context for learning and inspired them to take on the role of young explorers.
During the walk, students observed a variety of natural elements, including plants, insects, soil, and other features in their surroundings. Through teacher-guided discussions and questioning, students were supported in identifying and classifying items as living or non-living. They actively shared their observations and ideas with their peers, fostering meaningful collaboration and discussion.
The learning process emphasised experiential and inquiry-based approaches, allowing students to develop their understanding through observation, exploration, and reflection. The activity also supported the development of communication, collaboration, and keen observational skills.
By the end of the lesson, Year 3 students were able to explore and observe the natural elements around them, distinguish between living and non-living things, understand that all living things are part of life on Earth, and develop a deeper sense of curiosity and appreciation for nature.

Our K1 children recently transformed into little ocean explorers as they stepped into their very own Ocean Discovery Zone set up in the school area. The space was filled with excitement, curiosity and a spirit of adventure as the children immersed themselves in a magical underwater world designed to spark awe and wonder.
An enchanting interactive shadow storytelling experience brought mysterious sea creatures to life through light, sounds and movement. The children listened with fascination, expressed themselves through actions and eagerly shared their ideas, allowing their imaginations to dive deep beneath the waves.
The Mystery Ocean Box added an element of surprise and discovery, encouraging language development, creativity and social interaction as hidden treasures were revealed. Sensory stations, including the Sand and Shell Station, Water Fishing Station and Blue Bubble Wrap Sensory Walk, provided hands-on opportunities for exploration and joyful learning.
Throughout the session, the children engaged fully with sand, paint and water, exploring textures and building confidence through meaningful play. This enriching outdoor experience allowed them to develop a deeper understanding of ocean life in a fun, imaginative and memorable way.

Our K2 children stepped into the exciting world of palaeontology as they transformed into young dinosaur detectives for their Entry Point experience. Filled with curiosity and enthusiasm, they explored the playground in search of hidden dinosaur eggs, just like real palaeontologists on a fossil hunt.
Using magnifying glasses to examine clues and wooden hammers to carefully excavate the ‘eggs’, the children worked patiently to uncover the hidden dinosaur toys inside. This hands-on experience helped them understand the careful process of excavation and discovery.
Once their dinosaurs were revealed, the children identified and matched them on a worksheet before colouring their chosen dinosaur. The activity encouraged observational skills, fine motor development, and early enquiry skills, while sparking excitement for their new theme.
It was a roaring start to our learning adventure - inspiring curiosity, teamwork, and a love of discovery!

Our K3 children recently embarked on an exciting Rocket Rescue Mission: Investigating and Repairing the Crash. The activity featured a special storytelling segment led by one of our parent volunteers, which sparked curiosity and set the scene beautifully before the rescue mission unfolded.
Through imaginative, play-based learning, the children stepped into the role of rocket engineers as they explored a simulated rocket crash scenario. Working collaboratively, they observed carefully, discussed possible causes of the crash, and proposed solutions to repair the rocket.
This hands-on experience nurtured critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and creativity, while introducing early space and science concepts. It also laid a strong foundation for learning throughout our Blast Off unit.
A truly engaging start to our space adventure - inspiring curiosity and problem-solving every step of the way!
