Pratical 1: Investigation of osmosis.

Objective: To determine the nature of 2 unknown solutions. (Hypertonic/Hypertonic/Isotonic)

Osmosis defines as movement of water molecules from a higher water potential to a lower water potential through semi/partially permeable membrane. Cells will behave differently when exposed to different water potential.

KIDNEY - Excretory Organ

Function: Excrete excess mineral salts and excess water from the body.

Processes: Ultrafiltration and selective reabsorption via nephrons. Additional action of ADH will be required if water in our body is too low.

Note: we have two kidneys, if one of it fails we still able to live with one however special diet is required.
