*CONTINUATION OF TRADITIONAL RULERS, PEACE AND SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING: Commissioner For Local Government, Community, And Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Monday Osaigbovo Pays Visit To Local Governments Traditional Rulers And All The Security Outfit in Uhunmwonde, Orhionmwon and Ikpoba Okha L.G.A*

—— The Traditional rulers said, the former governor, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole have once told them that his successor will perform more than his good work to the people. Evidently, what the former governor said has indeed comes into realization as the good work of this present administration is visible to the blind.

Sequel to the on going visit of the honourable commissioner for local government, community and chieftaincy affairs, Hon. Monday Osaigbovo, the entourage made a working visit to the council of traditional rulers and all security operatives, in Uhunmwonde, Orhionmwon and Ikpoba Okha local government council areas. The familiarization visit is part of measures to help curb criminal activities within the state especially at the local government level.

The commissioner who engaged on a working visit on behalf of the governor, Godwin Obaseki Appreciated the traditional rulers, security operatives, Religion body for their efforts to ensuring peace and security in their various local government Area .

After the Honorable Commissioner heartfelt appreciations, he stressed on the need to strategize to enhance the effort of the monthly meetings being held in their various council where the outcome of the peace and security committee meetings will be reported to their various local government council and to the palace of the oba of Benin for immediate action.

The commissioner maintained that as part of governments effort to stamped out criminal activities within the state, the governor has promised to train ten thousands (10,000) local security network personnel (vigilante ) the police to have more men to work with before the end of his tenor, that, all hands must be on deck during and after the festive season to control cult activities ,kidnapping and other social vices.

He noted out that, Some of the traditional rulers are engaging on revenue collection that is statutory duty of the government . He admonished such persons or traditional rulers to desist from such obnoxious act, that if at all, such traditional rulers want to engaged themselves on revenue business there is need to approach the government for an approval.

And further added that, the traditional rulers should stay in their various domain for proper understanding and robust relationship with their people.

The council chiefs of various local governments lauded the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s efforts to putting good infrastructure development to better the lives of their children and children yet unborn, that the former governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has once told them that his successor, Godwin Obaseki will perform more than his good performances to the good people of Edo State, evidently, what the former Governor said has indeed comes into realization where his positive performances is beyond the expectations of all and sundry, and which without being told, visible to the blind.

The traditional rulers added that, because of the forthrightness and unprecedented positive performances of this present administration under the technocrat Governor Godwin Obaseki, they shall deem it necessary to join more efforts with their council chairmen financially and morally to put in reducing crime and insecurity in their various communities.

Thereafter, the traditional rulers unleashed upon the workaholic and dynamic honorable commissioner for local governments, community and chieftaincy affairs, Hon. Monday Osaigbovo an exceptional prayers of blessings to excel in all ramification, as his level of commitment towards the accomplishments of the mega agenda is indeed unprecedented.

The Security Outfits, appreciated the governor for the recognition bestowed upon them regarding reduction of crime and insecurity in their various communities , added that, by the reasons of this recognition, the governor has doubled their efforts in crime fighting. And be rest assured that, with the structure putting in place by the commissioner of police, the people should be expected to sleep with their two eyes closed henceforth.

Today we the security operatives are proud to say we have a responsible governments that stood firmly by the good people of Edo State, that before now, the various communities have been witnessing kidnaping and killings, fortunately, the insecurity challenges has drastically reduced to minimum level of applauding.

The security operatives also do not forget to appreciates God Almighty for making a man like the honorable commissioner in part of this present administration as they described him as man sent from God.

the religion body all unanimously applauded the visit of the commissioner in their respective council and promised to enhanced their efforts to join the present administration to reduce crime and insecurity in their various local government Areas. The body added that the governor has done good for their people.

The religion body do not also hesitate to applaud the honorable commissioner for his role in this good governance that stood firmly for all and sundry.

It is a Common adage that there is nothing new under the Sun.
Consequently one can postulate that there is no human activity on Earth that has never existed before now as all holy Books from the Holy Bible, Koran, Bagavita and African Traditional Histrionics contains tales of examples of modern Occurrences from Natural Disasters such as Thunder, Earthquakes, Volcanic Eruptions as well as Ocean Surges and Windstorms .

One can not also leave out man caused Tragedies and Inventions such as Wars , Navigations ,Games, Adventures, Literary Compositions, Researches especially in Medicine and other Scientific Discoveries.

In the natural Struggle for space as ordained by God according to the Christian Religion in the Holy Bible that Man must toil to eke out a living. Humans are bound to disagree at some points, but the ability of Man to navigate through these Challenges amicably resolve their differences, Sheathe their Swords , Bury their differences and forge ahead distinguishes Man from other living Beings. Infact History has vindicated that a Million Relationships emerge from disagreements to be stronger, More Formidable and Repositioned towards achievements of organizational or Common Goals.

It is to this end that one is fixed to visit the Squabbles amongst the Hierarchy of the People's Democratic Party in Edo State and appealed to them to urgently meet and reconcile their differences.
We the Members of Edo State Social Media Force have since come to realize that the Quarrel has now become unnecessary and if not resolved now will lead to Collosal disadvantage towards achieving Goals or Purposes that Political Parties are Fundamentally Organized or established for.

We want to draw attention to a recent unwarranted dimension that the Quarrel has assumed when some Members of the Legacy Group, the factional part of the party who are not supporters of the governor began to throw tantrums at the achievements of the Governor of Edo State Mr Godwin Obaseki who had gathered the whole World to celebrate a record Seven year achievements at the annual Edo Summit also known as ALAGHODARO where the State has become the best stop shop for Investors who are pouring to key into Grand Policies on Ease of doing Business, Research Hunters in Education Sector, Tax and Civil Service Reforms has moved Government Administration from Analogue to Digital Methodology as well as other Key Areas of Resounding Development which have made the Governor a house hold name. And as such, no human being in his right frame of mind would want to fight against such an unprecedented and exceptional good work by the governor.

And as such, we are surprised at the attack by the so called legacy group of the party who are not more than 50 members in the entire state as in Edo North there is nothing like legacy group as well as Edo Central, except in Edo South where we have few of them parading themselves as legacy group.

It’s high time we stopped deceiving ourselves, if you think the 50 members of the entire legacy group will produce a governor in the next 1000 years to come, you better wake up and queue behind the Governor and the party before it will be too late for an amendment. We wouldn’t know if you guys have forgotten that even when PDP haven’t divided after the administration of Chief Lucky Igbinedion we have never won any governorship election in the state let alone the 50 members of the so called legacy to win a gubernatorial election or produce the party candidate ahead of 2024.

The was the same legacy group that went as far as working with the opposition party believing they will be compensated with positions. Like as it’s normally say, our umbrella is very wide to accommodate whoever that decides to join. 2024 is around the corner, and a divided house cannot stand. Those who still pitch tent as legacy should embrace peace with the Governor ,a man who has worked hard to put Edo State in spotlight.

If anyone has an Aspirant that he or she is projecting ,let them go ahead and sell such individual by Letting the entire people know what he/she is capable of doing rather than attacking another aspirant in the same political party, indeed our democracy has outgrown the system of character assassination. The forming of the kangaroo group also known as legacy coalition won't yield any result but further damage the integrity of you all.

As a well recognized media outfit ,we are not pleased with the activities of the so called legacy group. We know all your antics and tricks ,and we are using the medium to passionately appeal to everyone who are still in that group to meet the Governor on a round table dialogue and see how to Mend the Broken Walls against 2024

The recent seven years celebration of Alaghodaro programme showcased the level and height that Edo state has attained within the comity of states on the bases of foresight and by deploying the state resources to achieving the highest standards of service and living for the good people of the State.

Members of the Edo State Social Media Force wish to state categorically clear that as much as we understand that Aggrieved Members of PDP have their Fundamental Human Rights to exercise their Grievances the best way they can to draw attention to their Plights, by attracting attention of the Public thereby compelling the Governor to come down from his Olympian Height to negotiate with them we like to educate them that they should also understand that in any Game especially in Politics there are standard Rules of Engagements. Just like in Boxing that it is forbidden to jab below the Belt it is also very offensive to kick below the Belt in Political Engagements .
Such Misdemeanors attract sever Sanctions .

As a well recognized media outfit, we look at the allegations that Governor Obaseki gave out money to some people at a meeting held with an Elder-statesman and former governor of the State Chief John Odigie Oyegun as frivolous, malicious, unacceptable and baseless accusation

Although it is in the Public Arena that some of the Members of the Legacy Group worked for the Opposition in the Last general Election and are still bent on doing so in the future exercise for Pecuniary Benefits, they should understand that Nature abhors unnecessary Grandstanding while the Cosmic Affairs of Man is solely under the Control of forces beyond Man. Consequently they will be disappointed as the good People of Edo State are with their amiable Governor Mr Godwin Obaseki

following those analogies, we Appeal to the Legacy Group to adopt civilized and Rational Approach to their Advocacy for self Actualization so that at the end of the day they will not throw the Baby and the Bath Water away instead throwing stones of distraction and destruction.

So Edo State Social Media Force at this juncture will like to remind the Legacy Group how it was impossible for the Edo PDP to Occupy the number one Seat of Power in the State despite their Popularity , Strength, Organizational Acumen and even Financial Bouyancy when the Party Controlled the Central Government in Abuja. The Edo PDP woefully failed in all their Strategies, Struggles to Clinch Power in the State .

We are still in deep wonder what the Legacy Group will achieve if they succeed. God forbid anyway to detract the moving Train of the Progressive Governance by the Record Achieving Wake and See Governor Godwin Obaseki.

We make bold to say that the Record Achievements of Governor Godwin Obaseki in moving Edo State forward from where other Past Governors stopped can not be wished away by the Antics of a Few Members of the Legacy Group and tasked them to find better ways to Appeal to the Governor to grant them Audience so that they can become part of the Moving Train.

Edo State Social Media Force kindly calls on the Leadership of the Party to find amicable Solution to the bickering amongst the Members so that we call talk with one voice as the 2024 Governorship Election draws near .

Edo state has experience transformation and infracstrural development in this present Administration hence we are encouraging people and clamouring for continuity and as such, I want to urge the leaders, faithful members and stakeholders of our great party (PDP) to dwell under the umbrella of peaceful consistence as we plan ahead and ensure victory in the upcoming Gubernatorial election come 2024.

In any form of battle or infighting dialogue is the answer. The party PDP belongs to us and we must understand that splitting the party into several groups will not do us any good rather than giving opposition the strength to defeat the party.

*Edo First Lady declares open third edition of Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament*

The Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, on Monday, declared open the third edition of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT), noting that the annual competition is the only preseason women's tournament in Africa recognized by world football governing body, FIFA.

The third edition of the tournament with the theme, “End Gender-Based Violence,” is holding in Benin City, the Edo State capital, between Monday, 23rd of October and Wednesday 1st of November, 2023.

Thirteen (13) teams from the Nigerian Women's Football League (NWFL) are battling for the N60 million aggregate prize for the tournament in four sports facilities in the State, including the magnificent Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, University of Benin Sports Complex, Western Boys Mini-Stadium and the Edo State College of Nursing and Health Sciences Mini-Stadium.

The winner of the tournament is expected to go home with N7 million naira, while the second, third and fourth positions will bag N5 million, N3 million naira, and N1.5 million respectively. The other nine participating teams will get N750, 000 each, among other consolation prizes.

Declaring the tournament open amid pomp and pageantry at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, in Benin City, the Edo State capital, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki charged the 13 participating teams in the spirit of sportsmanship.

She noted that the competition is the foremost preseason tournament of Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) featuring top women football clubs across the Country.

Mrs. Obaseki said, “This tournament is recognized by FIFA and happens to be the only one in Africa. Every year, as we organize the competition, we seek to address social vices affecting the girl-child.

“The first year, we fought against human trafficking, the second edition it was against drug abuse and this third edition we are fighting to stop gender-based violence.”

She added, “We thank you all for taking time to join us at this tournament. We have a whole week for the tournament which will come to an end by the 31st of this month. On the last day of the tournament, we would be having a seminar where experts will be invited to talk to the girls on gender based violence.

“I declare the third edition of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT) open in Benin City, Edo State.”

Other guests at the event include the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq., the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku and other members of the State House of Assembly, Commissioners and other top government functionaries.

Therefore, for the above benefits to be rationalized, there is need for actions to promote continuity of the Mega Agenda.
