In the heart of Ouidah, a place rich in history and deep spiritual roots, stands one of the most mysterious sites in West Africa — the Temple of Pythons.
This is not a zoo.

Here, pythons are not seen as dangerous creatures.
They are symbols of protection, spirituality, and divine connection in the practice of Vodun.
Imagine walking into a sacred temple… and seeing live pythons moving freely, Calm, Untouched, Respected.

Locals will tell you:
These pythons do not harm us. They are part of us.
At night, some of these snakes are even allowed to roam the town — and in the morning, they are gently returned to the temple...
Strange? Maybe.
Powerful? Definitely.
This is a reminder that Africa holds stories the world is still trying to understand…
Deep traditions that go beyond what the eyes can see.

L’hymne national de la République du Bénin est l’Aube Nouvelle. Il a été écrit et composé par l’abbé Gilbert Jean Dagnon, et adopté à l’indépendance de la République du Dahomey en 1960.

Après que le Dahomey soit devenu la République populaire du Bénin en 1975, l’hymne national a été conservé, mais les mots « Dahomey » et « Dahoméen » ont été respectivement remplacées par les mots « Bénin » et « Béninois ».

One of the most powerful and dreadful deities in Benin. Gambada is called upon daily to solve various problems, such as infertility in women. In Benin and Togo, Gambada is known as the vodou specialized in love affairs and marriage. It helps to seal unions, to make them last, or to find your love. As told.

To benefit from the blessings of this deity, it is necessary to respect certain constraints and prohibitions. Although its benefits are numerous, it also imposes many restrictions to achieve positive results.

Among these prohibitions are: never causing or performing an abortion, never committing or being complicit in murder, and never bewitching anyone. Otherwise, the consequences are immediate and irreversible for the offenders, as one dignitary pointed out. Failure to comply with these regulations brings harm to the authors, which means that Gambada can cause harm.

To inquire this divinity, you must have a magic flute or whistle made by a Vodoun priest. By blowing the whistle and pronouncing the name of your loved one, the desired person will respond immediately and seek to reach the holder of the whistle. Only generous and honest people can benefit from the divinity.
