+ There is heavy traffic at the Berger-Alausa-Magodo axis of Lagos State after a fuel tanker caught fire on Otedola bridge, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, on Saturday.
It was gathered that the incident happened a few minutes to 6pm.
The incident caused panic on the expressway as many vehicles made U-turn in a bid to avoid being engulfed by fire.
Some passengers were also seen alighting from vehicles hurriedly.
Many passengers were also stranded at the Alausa Secretariat and toll gate bus stops.
As of the time of filling this report, details of the fire incident are sketchy.
Some motorists who spoke to our correspondent lamented that they had spent over one hour in traffic.
One of them, Akpan, said, “I regret passing this route today. I have been here for about one hour. My passengers have all alighted and they were yet to pay their transport fares.”

- Nigeria votes for a new president after delay
Nigerians vote for a new president on Saturday after a week-long delay that has raised political tempers, sparked conspiracy claims and stoked fears of violence.
Some 120,000 polling stations were due to open at 0700 GMT, from megacity Lagos and the oil hub Port Harcourt in the south, to ancient Kano in the north and the country’s rural heartlands.
Results are expected from early next week, with the winner gaining control of Africa’s most populous nation and leading oil producer for four years.
