ARKS Year 7 students had an exciting behind the scenes learning experience as they visited the school’s server room to explore how the LAN (Local Area Network) operates in real life. Students observed essential network components, including switches, servers, fibre optic and copper cables, and learned about the CCU cooling system that plays a vital role in preventing overheating and ensuring the network runs efficiently.

ARKS students returned to school on Thursday 16th April for a carefully designed Wellbeing Check-In, grounded in ARKEDU’s core values and commitment to the holistic development of every student. The day was intentionally structured to prioritise connection, emotional wellbeing, and a strong sense of belonging across our school community.

Through a series of engaging and inclusive activities, students were given the space to reconnect with one another and with ARKS Staff- both Operational & Academic, in a positive, supportive environment. The atmosphere across the school was warm and purposeful, reflecting our shared values of respect, compassion, and community. To further support this transition back to school, students were offered complimentary refreshments, including popcorn, ice cream, and pizzas. These simple gestures contributed to a sense of care and celebration, reinforcing that ARKS is not only a place of learning, but a place where students feel valued and supported.

We were particularly encouraged by an attendance rate of 82%, with students arriving with genuine enthusiasm—greeting peers and staff with smiles, warmth, and a clear readiness to re-engage.

A key feature of the day was the “Jar Boards,” where students were invited to reflect on their return. Their contributions were thoughtful and heartfelt, expressing gratitude, happiness, and a strong connection to their school. These reflections are a powerful reminder of the positive culture we continue to nurture at ARKS.

This Wellbeing Check-In has set a strong and values-led foundation for the term ahead, reaffirming our commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student is known, valued, and empowered to thrive.
