Dar Al Arqum for Quranic Studies for Non Arabs, specializes in teaching the Holy Qur’an, through memorization and recitation and also teaching other Shari’a related subjects. Dar Al Arqum was established In March 2003 and its affiliated to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Dar Al Arqum launched an educational programme entitled “Islamic Da’awah for Ladies”. This programme
is run in the English language and caters for the non Arabic communities living in Bahrain. The course subjects include Shari’a, Fiqh, Hadith, Qur'an memorization, Tajweed and Tafseer. Along side this programme we also run the “Islamic Da’awah for Kids” programme which is targeted at 6 and above year old ladies and includes within the syllabus, manners and morals, tajweed, stories of the Prophets and Qur’an recitation and memorization. These classes are run in English and cater for the western Muslim expatriate children. There has been a turnover of more than a hundred students since its opening. These students have graduated with the correct knowledge of Quranic recitation and some have even memorised parts of the Quran Al Kareem. As you already know that learning Tajweed and memorizing Quran is the twice as difficult for non Arabs as it is for Arabs. Therefore even Mohammed صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned in Hadeeth that there is a double bounty for those who struggle in learning the Quran, one for reciting and other for bearing the effort.
