THE FINFLUENCERS PROJECT ORGANISED A CONFERENCE
"PERSONAL FINANCIAL LITERACY - THE BASIS FOR SUCCESS" WITH YOUNG PEOPLE FROM YAMBOL

On 31.10.2023, a conference was held in the city of Yambol, aimed at young people, who were presented with the products created under the project, as well as be intrigued by the topic of financial literacy and personal finance management.

During the conference the YCCI team presented the most important product of the project's work, namely an actively functioning online training platform on financial literacy, which is available in Bulgarian, English, Portuguese, Greek and Macedonian languages. The platform improves the knowledge and skills, especially of young people, in relation to their work with personal finance and their financial literacy.

The young people were also introduced to the online Financial Literacy Self-Assessment Tool created within the framework of the project, which can be used to assess the level of knowledge of young people who plan to undergo the training on this topic.

Within the framework of the conference, it was discussed that the young people who understand how to manage their money are more likely to succeed in adulthood, achieving professional and financial goals, and become independent from their parents' financial support. The conference presented advice to young people on achieving financial literacy and skills, as well as examples of financial mistakes that have had disastrous consequences on young people's lives.

The conference with the young people ended with confirmation of the idea that the skills of managing personal finances allows them to plan their future goals, such as buying a home, starting a family, education, etc. and they can prepare better and have a clearer idea of how to achieve them.

Yambol Chamber of Comemmerce and Industry (YCCI) organised a conference with trainers and educators in Yambol,Bulgaria

On 20.10.2023, the project team from YCCI organised a conference in Yambol,Bulgaria under the FinFluencers Project in order to demonstarte in front of educators and trainers the elaborated under the project online training platform on Financial Literacy, digital self-assessment tool of financial literacy, the series of podcasts and videos,as well as to discuss the vital role that they have in educating and instilling financial literacy in young people behaviour and mind.

Financial literacy empowers young people to become independent and self-reliant when it comes to managing their money. Trainers can teach them about the importance of financial independence, guiding them towards making sound financial decisions and avoiding common pitfalls with the help of the elaborated project tools.

The event was attended by 22 trainers who shared that they find the project tools really useful and they realised their role in educating young people on financial literacy of utmost importance. They are eager to use the online traininf platform of the project in their classes and provoke the interest of young people to increase their skills in Personal Financial Management.

Bulgaria is joining the Eurozone soon!

What will happen to our money when Bulgaria becomes part of the Eurozone? Where, when and how can we exchange Bulgarian leva into euros? How will we pay in the store and how will the prices be written on the labels?

📺 Good information plays an important role in the successful transition from the leva to the euro.

The initiative of the European Comission Representation in Bulgaria aims to provide understandable and practical information about the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria. The information campaign, which started in September 2023, presents 10 video materials on key topics related to the Eurozone. Among them are the process of replacing the leva with the euro, the impact on people's everyday life and the real facts behind the most common myths about the common European currency.

Yambol CCI, Bulgaria promoted the project Finfluncers on an annual youth festival, including young people from the rural areas.

On 16.09.2023, YCCI team organised a booth of the project in order to promote the ready for testing FinFluencers Project training platform and the other project results.

The Youth Festval is annually organised by Tundzha Municipality, Bulgaria in order to promote youth participation, sport, cultural and skills development. This year, the festival was attended by more than 350 young people from 35 small villages.

FINFLUENCERS FREE TRAINING PLATFORM - INCREASING FINANCIAL LITERACY AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE

Financial literacy is an essential life skill for participating in modern society. Young people are growing up in an increasingly complex world where they will eventually have to take responsibility for their financial future.

The main result of the Finfluncers project, which is funded by the European Union, through the Erasmus + program, is the development of an online learning platform that aims to offer young people, aged 19-29, online learning to assist them in making informed and confident financial decisions, as economic actors, producers, consumers, professionals, entrepreneurs, employees, considering that there is a direct positive relationship between financial literacy and the well-being of individuals.

The Finfluencers learning platform is ready and available in English, Bulgarian, Greek, Portuguese and Macedonian languages.

The platform includes 5 modules, videos and podcasts.
Module 1: Being Financially Literate - What It Means and What It Takes!
Module 2: Planning our personal finances
Module 3: Financial Services - A Quick Guide
Module 4: Budgeting - where is my money
Module 5: Financial literacy as part of our career and professional development.

We would like to invite young people and expert trainers from Bulgaria to evaluate the created online Training and give us a brief feedback, which we will then integrate into the final version of the online platform.

Today, the Project team had some of their last coordination meetings, in the light of closing the project soon.

The project team coordinated the last project activities. What the target group of the project could expect soon is:
- Final conference event in October 2023 in Yambol (BG), Athens (GR), Strumica (MK) and Faro (PT)
- Inviting young people and trainers to test the ready for use training platform and provide us feedback.
- Organising local meetings of the National Networks of young Financial influencers in Athens, Faro and Strumica.
- Presenting a Project Guide on how to create and sustaine Networks of financially influencial young people.

All these will be promoted through the FB of the project and through the partners dissemination channels.

Young people from Yambol,Bulgaria unite to work on the subject of Financial Literacy!

Within the Finfluencers project, which is funded by the European Union, through the Erasmus + program, at the end of the summer, young people from Yambol,Bulgaria laid the foundations of a Network of Financially Influential People to discuss and work on topics related to financial literacy, especially among the young audience.

The network met three times, discussing topics such as basic concepts in credit and savings, cashless payment methods, cryptocurrency, macroeconomic concepts. 💡

The meetings were full of discussions and a desire to learn in this field. The young people from the network want to move forward and share knowledge and experience with other young people!
