Core Areas of Naval Architecture
1. Ship Design & Hydrodynamics

Hull form optimization: Minimizing resistance and maximizing speed/efficiency through hull shape, bulbous bows, and CFD modeling
Stability & seakeeping: Ensuring vessels stay upright and handle waves safely - intact stability, damage stability, and motion analysis
Propulsion: Diesel engines, gas turbines, electric/azipod systems, and now ammonia, methanol, and hydrogen alternatives
Resistance & powering: Predicting how much power a ship needs to reach design speed
2. Structures & Materials

Structural design: Longitudinal strength, fatigue analysis, and finite element modeling of hull girders
Materials: Traditional steel, aluminum for high-speed craft, composites for yachts/naval vessels, and new high-strength steels for Arctic ships
