📄 1. Leaving Cert Results with a Pass in English
Forget the inflated CAO points lottery. Bulgarian universities simply require you to have your Leaving Cert results showing a basic pass mark in English.

But your dream doesn't end there. Here is how you can still start your medical degree this October in Varna, Bulgaria:
🎒 1. Zero CAO/HPAT Reliance
Bulgarian medical universities do not look at your CAO points or your HPAT score. Entry is based on your high school science grades and a basic entrance exam.

Arriving in Varna next month to study medicine or dentistry? Learning a few Bulgarian phrases for the supermarket could help you a lot in the beginning! Varna is largely a bilingual city as most young people speak very good English. But you'll find yourself in a shopping or taxi situation now and again where you'll need to unlock a few essential phrases!! 🇧🇬🇮🇪

Internship Year as an Irish Student in Bulgaria 🇧🇬 🇮🇪
It's perfectly acceptable to do your internship in Bulgaria as it is EU certified which means it is recognised in all EU countries including Ireland. However, many Irish students would like the option to head to Ireland and do their 6th year internship in a hospital back home. This would enable students to get up to speed with the HSE and ease the process of getting hired after graduation as a junior doctor in Ireland. Our university in Varna allows this but it takes some careful organising with a consultant in and Irish hospital who must take you on and sign you off to prove that you've completed all the required days at the hospital.

The Quarantine Film festival takes place every August on Aspurahovo Beach in Varna. This year it's running from August 4th - 8th. Entrance is free and there's even a free shuttle bus that leaves from the front of the Archaeological museum between 18.30 - 20.00 and then takes passengers back to the centre after the films end at 23.00. Get there well before 8pm if you want to find a seat!
