A successful Erasmus+ project does not begin with the first meeting and it does not end when the final activity is completed.
After almost finishing the ECO-SAGA project, looking back, we are happy to have had the opportunity to be part of the creation of a teacher training, guideline, toolkit and many other products that can boost sustainability education.
Together with our partners in ECO-SAGA, we first explored the real needs of the target group: what students are interested in, where they need more support, and what kind of learning can truly engage them. This analysis shaped the entire curriculum.
We combined these findings with the current trends among students' learning needs and the experience from working closely with teachers and listening to what they experience in real classrooms every day.
The result is a curriculum built around five environmental topics where each topic combines practical sustainability learning with the use of a specific digital tool, helping students develop green awareness and digital confidence at the same time.
During our latest transnational project meeting, we reflected on the progress made, discussed the final stage of the project, and discussed the piloting of all developed resources.
We also had the opportunity to present the project and its results to participants in Portugal during the school's multiplier event — thank you Agrupamento de Escolas General Serpa Pinto for having us, opening the conversation and bringing the project closer to the people they are designed for.
The meeting reminded us once again why international cooperation matters. Working with people from different countries opens your eyes to how differently we approach education, learning, and everyday challenges.
At the same time, learning through projects brings these different experiences together. It creates a shared space where ideas, practices, and perspectives meet — and where we grow not despite our differences, but because of them.
