The Anglo-American School of Sofia This is the OFFICIAL page of the Anglo-American School of Sofia. AAS serves the international community in Bulgaria's capital city, Sofia.

We now have over 350 students, aged 3 to 18, from 44 countries. We offer a curriculum that combines both US and UK best practice. AAS has friends all over the world and our international community is continually expanding. To fulfill our mission as a friendly school and to foster a love of learning and socially responsible citizenship, we organize different activities and communicate regularly wit

✨💖Our hearts were so full to welcome former AAS students Meggan and Micah, who came to visit all the way from South Africa last week.

After leaving in 2013, this was their very first time returning to Bulgaria - visiting to celebrate a former AAS classmate’s wedding. They made sure to stop by the campus that felt like home all those years ago.

Seeing the joy this reunion brought them speaks volumes about the lifelong bonds formed within our international community.

Excellence is not an act, but a habit. 🌟

We are incredibly proud of our Class of 2026 IB results - they achieved an average IB diploma score of 33 points, which is above the world average of 30.88 points.

The summer fun at AAS is at full swing this week 😎☀💦🍧
Students are having loads of fun - creating music and clay art, baking green 'Shrek' cakes and performing stories in the puppet theatre.
We are looking forward to the next week of Summer school for more adventures!

The PTO International Fair last Saturday was amazing!
Seeing 50 + cultures, represented at AAS, come together to celebrate our community, is always so special. 🌍✨

The crowd favorite is always the homemade food from our amazing parents, but the live music, games, charity booths, and the student raffle kept the energy high all day long.

A massive thank you to the PTO and all the volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the event a huge success. All the money raised will be re-invested back into a variety of educational activities for the AAS students next year.

We already can't wait for the next event in June 2027!

🔬🦠 Our youngest students finished their 'Life Cycles' unit collaborating with the Middle School Hands On Green Stuff (HOGS) team this week. The preschoolers had a hands-on experience making slime and lookeing at tadpoles under the microscope.

It was great fun working together and learning from each other!
