The Adventure Continues!

Here’s the second part of Issa’s inspiring Erasmus+ story! 💙

Dr. Kauri says: After my initial 2 months in 2022, I decided to repeat my trip during the summer of 2023 🌞 - this time focusing on specialities of my interest - Ophthalmology 👁️ and ENT 👂. These additional 2 months further sparked my interest in these specialities and cemented my desire to pursue a career in them, as I gained deeper insights and hands-on experience that solidified my passion.

From a social aspect, Erasmus+ facilitated a truly unique cultural exchange 🤝 with students from all over Europe and the world - forming a diverse network of friendships. We would occasionally go on trips 🚗, discovering Slovenia and the surrounding countries of Austria 🇦🇹, Croatia 🇭🇷, Italy 🇮🇹, and Hungary 🇭🇺. Whilst it may have been tiring, we truly managed to enjoy every moment of our trips, and we look back with gratitude for all the unforgettable experiences - no regrets whatsoever!

I look forward to more incredible journeys with Erasmus+, and will continue to encourage others to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime journey! A special thank you to the Erasmus+ team at MUS for making it all possible!” 💙

_”A journey worth repeating! An Erasmus+ journey I can’t help but relive over and over again, quite literally! After 3 trips with Erasmus, I am beyond grateful for the opportunities granted to us by the Erasmus+ office at the Medical University of Sofia. 🎓

Prior to my journey to Maribor, Slovenia, I had a very vague idea about the country and hadn’t even heard about Maribor!

However, I was positively surprised by Slovenia’s scenic natural beauty 🌲, modernity 🏙️, warm hospitality 🤗, and peaceful atmosphere. Most importantly, the Medical Sector in Slovenia is very advanced and modern, which is a great source of pride for them.

For + students, the Medical Faculty at the University of Maribor employs a clinic-based approach to teaching 🏥, which proves to be extremely valuable as it provides much-needed practical skills. Students are encouraged to scrub in for surgeries, take part in various procedures, and attend practical courses with the guidance of the medical team.”_

Мина време от последната ни Erasmus Success Story, но днес ви срещаме с Боян Манов, който споделя своя опит от 6-месечната си мобилност в Париж! 🇫🇷

💬 “Université Paris Cité е страхотен университет, който осигурява много добро теоретично обучение. Още по-приятно изненадан бях от организираността на стажовете – за периода от 6 месеца, когато бях във Франция, карах два стажа по три месеца. Първият беше по Ендокринология в болница Saint-Joseph, а вторият – по Клинична имунология в болница Saint-Louis. Основно работех в сферата на онко-хематологията, но имах и случаи с вродени и придобити имунни дефицити. Това беше изключително ползотворен стаж, тъй като във Франция специалността е много добре развита и има какво да се види.”

💡 “Болничните стажове бяха отлично организирани – като стажанти помагахме на специализантите, взимахме пациенти, които представяхме на визитации, и ги проследявахме до края на болничния им престой. Освен това, работехме активно – снемахме анамнеза и статус, изготвяхме епикризи и водехме досиетата на пациентите в болничната система. Тези стажове наистина ни подготвят за бъдещата ни работа като лекари. В университета и в болниците бях третиран наравно с френските студенти, което направи преживяването още по-ценно.”

🌍 “Освен професионалния опит, имах възможност да живея шест месеца в сърцето на Европа, в един от градовете с най-богата история и култура. Лувърът, Версай, Триумфалната арка и Айфеловата кула бяха на една ръка разстояние! Университетът ни беше организирал опознавателно събитие, където се запознах с всички Erasmus студенти за учебната година. Силно препоръчвам и Erasmus Student Network (ESN) – те организират страхотни събития, на които можеш да срещнеш хора от цял свят.”

Students and Academic Staff from MU-Sofia Participated in “10 Days of INGENIUM” in Oviedo, Spain 🇪🇸

A delegation of students, academic, and administrative staff from Медицински университет - София took part in the “10 Days of INGENIUM” event from February 16-22, 2025, hosted by the University of Oviedo, the coordinator of the European University INGENIUM.

🎓 The Winter School on “Creativity and Communication in Research” spanned five intensive days filled with lectures, activities, seminars, and workshops. Students engaged in dynamic sessions using innovative pedagogical methods to boost creativity, collaboration, and scientific communication. Seven master’s and PhD students from the four faculties of MU-Sofia proudly represented the university.

🗣️ Academic staff participated in the official ceremony and the “STAFF AND GOVERNANCE MEETINGS” of 10 Days of INGENIUM.

📆 On February 18, 2025, under the patronage of the rectors and official representatives of the 10 partner universities, key strategic sessions took place, including:
• INGENIUM Alliance Council
• INGENIUM Steering Committee
• INGENIUM Advisory Board

🌍 The event was a valuable opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and strengthening international collaboration within the INGENIUM alliance.

Students and Faculty from MU-Sofia Participated in "10 Days of INGENIUM" in Finland 🇫🇮

Students and faculty members from the Медицински университет - София took part in the "10 Days of INGENIUM" event, organized by the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) in Mikkeli, Finland.

💡The main theme of the undergraduate school was "From Idea to Disruption: Transforming Visions into Innovations." Students had the opportunity to develop entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, and innovative solutions across various professional fields.

📚 The initiative included students from the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, DSc" and the Medical College "Yordanka Filaretova", as well as faculty members from the Faculty of Public Health, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Pharmacy, alongside representatives from the administrative staff.

🗣️ MU-Sofia faculty members participated in various presentations related to the project’s work packages, contributing their expertise to the development of key aspects of collaboration between the partner universities.

🌍 The forum provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange, best practice sharing, and the establishment of new international partnerships within the INGENIUM alliance.
