Growth mindset.

Sorry, had to turn off the comments on this one; some were becoming far too contentious. (And downright rude.)

Look, here’s the deal: I’m a teacher. And I wrote a novel. Initially, I created this account with the intention to market my book to teachers, hence all the classroom-life and school-related content on my page. Then, when I realized that my book wasn’t likely going to make it to the NYT bestsellers list without some serious professionals behind me (and maybe a miracle), I kept showing up here because of the connection I felt with - you guessed it - other teachers.

My ‘content’ 🙄 isn’t meant to pit teachers against other professions, or parents against teachers, or anything else with a nasty undercurrent. It’s meant to make my fellow teachers laugh. Or feel less alone/crazy. Or feel seen.

If you’re not a teacher and you have a negative view of us, I’m sorry that’s your stance. You’re entitled to your opinions, but when you spout off in the comments section of a humorous reel about how teachers are a just a bunch of overpaid crybabies who do nothing but complain, well, then you can take your trolling elsewhere. Your negative energy isn’t welcome here.

If, on the other hand, you’re an accountant or a nurse or a tradesperson AND you can still appreciate the humour in MY CHOSEN and beloved profession, welcome. Thanks for being here. 💕 Let’s have a laugh and be friends.

On a personal note - while I will likely be crawling to the finish line of the school year, I will really miss my students. They are such an amazing bunch: helpful, curious, and KIND.
