Confirmed course: Community Engagement and Active Citizenship in Adult Education
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course Community Engagement and Active Citizenship in Adult Education is a structured
training programme, organised by EvroPro Training Center in Shumen, Bulgaria, aimed at trainers,
facilitators and professionals working with adults in community settings.
The programme responds to the urgent need to strengthen the capacity of adult educators to
mobilise communities, promote active civic participation, and integrate the values of democracy,
European solidarity and social inclusion into everyday educational practice.
In a society marked by rapid transformations – digitalisation, migration, social exclusion and civic
polarisation – adult educators play an essential role in shaping informed, active and responsible
citizens. The course provides the methodological, conceptual and practical tools needed to facilitate
learning processes based on participation, dialogue and community action.
Held in Shumen, Bulgaria, in a European intercultural context, the course gives participants the
opportunity to explore models and practices of community education from different national contexts
and to expand their network of European collaborators.
