Bulgarian Folk Music & Dance Seminar, Plovdiv The Plovdiv Folk Seminar will be happening again in 2026 (July 25-August 1).

The Seminar website (https://folkseminarplovdiv.net/ ) is now available for registration. The Seminar is especially designed for non-Bulgarians (or Bulgarians interested in connecting with their “roots” through music and dance) who want a more in-depth opportunity to learn traditional instruments, singing styles and dance than is normally possible for groups or individuals traveling to Bulgaria. T

his unique and enjoyable program blends the skills of professional teachers with the authenticity of villagers from various parts of Bulgaria. The dance program, in particular, features different groups of musicians and dancers from many regions in Bulgaria teaching dances from their own villages. This different educational approach brings the village presenters to you, the student, rather than having you travel to the village.

Dear Friends – For planning purposes, we are very interested to know how many people may attend the Bulgarian Folk Music & Dance Seminar this summer. If you are planning to attend, or considering the idea, but are not registering yet, we would appreciate hearing from you! Please let us know which classes you are interested in. (Note: music classes that are under-enrolled by June 15 may be cancelled for this year, so it’s important for us to hear from you!)
