A truly inspiring day 🇧🇬

The members of the AUBG student club Model European Union Blagoevgrad had the incredible opportunity to visit and engage with the Caretaker Prime Minister of Bulgaria – Andrey Gurov. It was an eye-opening experience to witness leadership up close, ask meaningful questions, and gain deeper insight into the challenges and responsibilities that come with guiding a country. Moments like these remind us why civic engagement and informed dialogue matter so much.

It was a pleasure to share this experience with students from Sofia University, making the discussion even more dynamic and enriching through the exchange of different perspectives.

A big thank you to the former president of MEU Blagoevgrad - Yani Dimanchev, for making this visit possible!

Some conversations don’t happen on stage — and this one is exclusive.

This Monday, we’re sitting down with Vasil Terziev — Mayor of Sofia and AUBG alumnus — for something you rarely get access to: a real, unfiltered conversation on “The Weight of the Capital: Sofia between National Expectations and European Ambitions.” What does it actually take to lead a capital city pulled in every direction at once? How do you carry the weight of national expectations while reaching for a European future?

No big hall, no distant stage — just a rare chance to hear directly how Sofia is being shaped, up close and unfiltered.
