Dannie Chalk - Witchcraft in Early Modern England [Entire Talk] 25/12/2015

What is a witch? That is the question that Dr. Dannie Chalk raises in her talk "Witchcraft in Early Modern England". Due to its mysterious nature, the art of witchcraft has always attracted a lot of controversy, but what's even more controversial are the prejudices and misconceptions about witchcraft that people have now, in the age of precision and progress. For example, despite the common perception, women accused of witchcraft in the 16th-17th centuries were mostly young, married and with children; and were not prosecuted by the Church, tortured or burned. To find out more surprising facts and to answer the question "What is a witch?" for yourself, watch the entire talk here on AUBGTalks!
Also, even though it has little to do with witchcraft, the team of AUBGTalks would like to wish you, our beloved subscribers, a Merry Christmas, lots of luck and success in the upcoming Year of Our Lord 2016.
