Don’t let social media sabotage your mind from the fact that people are still just people in the real world living REGULAR lives.

People do re-use the same holiday decor for 10+ years.

People do stay home, can enjoy a quiet life, and be happy and at peace with a simple schedule of activities.

Marriages don’t have to have exotic, expensive trips to be fulfilling or considered successful.

Lots of people are driving around in cars they’ve had for years, that are paid off and including the little dings and dents for character.

Some individuals still live in homes with the warm toned “outdated” brown cabinets and like it, and have peace in their home.

Families are still having those special yet tiny birthday parties for their kids at the parks or bowling alleys or small family gatherings with dollar store decor or no extra decor.

It’s okay for freshly graduated teenagers and young adults to still live at home instead of immediately moving to an apartment in Miami.

Kids still get happy with the basics like pots and pans to play the drums on and sticker books.

Some people still have iPhone 12s.

Some love the hunt for the coupon deals and thrift stores.

There are 32 year olds just managing to stop splitting rent with someone and just now are buying their own first home.

And in the same breath, there are 32 year olds leaving failed relationships, broken marriages or being laid off that must move back home with their parents for a little while to reset.

People ARE normal, it’s just filtered out or sometimes kept private, not every detail needs to be displayed or put on performance. Don’t get confused. Life is full of challenges, insecurities, and disappointments. Everybody is somebody working through the process of life.

Don’t get sucked into compare-itis. Be encouraged, rest when you need to, soar when you get the chance to, fight through the low points, ask for help when you need it.
