Imagine being recognized for your work without feeling uncomfortable talking about your achievements.

Imagine being able to say “no” or “not now” without spending the rest of the day wondering if you’ve disappointed someone.

Imagine having the confidence to express what you want for your career, without feeling that you’re asking for too much.

And imagine coming home with enough energy left for yourself and the people who matter most to you.

You can be kind, modest and committed to your work without constantly putting yourself last.

You can value others without questioning your own worth.

You can be humble without making yourself invisible.

Because humility isn’t about making yourself smaller so that others can shine. There is plenty of room for you to shine too! ✨

Perhaps it’s time to give yourself that permission.
This could become your reality, one step at a time.

If you’re ready to explore what that could look like for you, drop me a message. 😊

I’ve noticed something many of the women I work with have in common.

They’re very good at being accountable to their deadlines, their manager, their team and the quality of their work.
And outside work, to the people they love and the responsibilities they carry.
But somewhere along the way, one person can quietly disappear from that list:
Themselves.
Their energy, their sleep, their health and the things that bring them joy.

I understand how easily that can happen when so much depends on you.
Being accountable to yourself doesn’t mean caring less about everyone else. It simply means remembering that what you need matters too.

So, a small question for today:
What’s one commitment to yourself you’d like to honour a little more?

If this resonates with you, feel free to drop me a message. ✨

“Where do you see yourself progressing next?”

The inevitable question comes up in your annual performance review. You knew it was coming. You’ve thought about the next level. You want the promotion, and yet, when the opportunity comes to say it loud, you hesitate. And suddenly, the questions start coming:
Have I really done enough?
Am I actually ready for it?
What if they don’t think I’m good enough?
And then another thought quietly joins in:
If I’m already working this many hours now… what would the next level demand from me?
More responsibility.
More pressure.
More evenings when you get home with little time or energy left for the people who matter most. So you find yourself caught between two worries:
What if I ask for more and I’m not enough?
And…
What if I get it and work asks even more of me?

Wanting to progress in your career and wanting to protect your life outside it are not contradictory desires. And if you’re struggling with both at the same time, you’re not alone.

If this feels familiar and you’d like to talk about it, feel free to drop me a message. ✨

I’m starting to think that my cat understands boundaries better than many of us do! 😁

When he needs to rest, he rests.
No guilt, nor the thought of “I’ll just finish one more thing first.”
No wondering whether he’s been productive enough to deserve it.
And when something clearly isn’t for him?
His answer is very simple: no.
No long explanation.
No overthinking whether someone might be disappointed.
Here is a crucial one: no replaying the decision three hours later! 😉

Of course, life- and especially work- is more complex than that. We have responsibilities, deadlines and people depending on us…But watching him sometimes makes me wonder:
When did rest become something we have to earn rather than something we need?
And when did saying no start requiring so much justification?

Perhaps building a healthier relationship with work isn’t always about making one big change.
Sometimes, it begins with noticing where we’ve stopped giving ourselves permission to make conscious choices about our own time and energy.
My cat- like all other cats- seems to do all of this naturally.

And you?
With everything that asks your time and energy- at work and outside it- what could you make a little more non-negotiable in your life right now?✨

I came across this quote today and it made me stop for a moment:

“The cost of a thing is the amount of what I will call life which is required to be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run.” — Henry David Thoreau, Walden

It made me think about something we don’t often include when we calculate the “cost” of our career choices: the amount of our life we’re exchanging for them. Since our time and energy are limited, every time we say yes to something, we spend a little of both. One more hour at work or one more evening thinking about that unfinished task…None of these choices seem particularly significant on its own maybe, but repeated often enough, they add up.

Moreover, unlike money, time isn’t something we can earn back later. So, perhaps, from time to time, it’s worth looking at where we’re spending it and asking: Is what I’m getting in return still worth what I’m giving for it?
The answer will be different for each of us. Because what we’re willing to give our time and energy to depends on what matters most to us.
So the real question isn’t only: What do I want to achieve? “, but also “How much of my life am I willing to exchange for it?”

If this speaks to you and brings up something you’ve been thinking about for a while, feel free to drop me a message. ✨

There are quite a few new faces in my network lately, so I wanted to introduce myself. 👋🏻

I’’m Aslı and I work with experienced women in Financial Operations to help them break the cycle of overwork, so they can succeed in demanding roles without sacrificing their family life.

My role is to help you understand what’s keeping that cycle going and build a healthier relationship with your work.

Before becoming a coach, I spent 20 years in finance in Turkey and in Belgium, mainly in Operations roles. So deadlines, accuracy, controls, exceptions, demanding workloads and the famous “just one more thing before I leave” are not foreign territory to me.

I also know what can happen when over-commitment, long hours and difficulty switching off become your normal way of working. My own burnout made me reconsider how I wanted to work and live. It also gave space to something that had been in my mind for years: becoming a coach.

Today, I want to help others find their own way of succeeding at work while keeping time and energy for the people and things that matter to them. While women in Financial Operations are at the heart of my work, men carrying a similar mental load are very welcome too.

I coach in English, French and Turkish (and Dutch is slowly joining the list 😉).

I also work with companies that want to support their people in building healthier ways of working and contribute to burnout prevention.

My 1:1 coaching packages start at €650 for six sessions, beginning with a chemistry meeting to see whether working together feels right.

Whether you’re here for yourself or you’re thinking about the wellbeing of your team, feel free to drop me a message. ☺️

The weekend is almost here.
But here’s a question:
Will your mind leave work when you do?

You close your laptop. Walk out of the office. Tell yourself, “That’s it for this week.” And yet… You’re replaying that conversation. Thinking about the email you didn’t answer. Wondering whether you should have done more.

You’ve left work. But work hasn’t quite left you. And that’s where the problem becomes bigger than working long hours. Because the time you’ve been waiting for all week is finally here… but part of you is still at work. With your family, but thinking about Monday. Trying to relax, but not quite switching off.
So what’s the solution?

Probably not someone telling you to “work less” or “just switch off”. You already know that. Sometimes it starts by understanding what keeps work switched on in your mind.
Fear of forgetting something?
The feeling that you haven’t done enough?
The responsibility you carry?
Or something else entirely?

This is where coaching can help. 🤗

Not making you care less about your work. But by helping you understand what’s keeping you tied to it, so you can succeed in a demanding role without work following you into the life that matters outside it.

If this sounds familiar, drop me a message.
Maybe this weekend is a good moment to start a different conversation. ✨

There was something I hadn’t noticed during today’s job fair, however the people waiting had.

It was another enriching day at Brussels Job Fair.

I met people looking for different things, but one wish came up several times:
A job with decent working hours that leaves room for a life outside work.

Some were looking for administrative roles. Others were considering changing sectors after a redundancy or a burnout.

Different stories. Different needs.
So I took my time with each person.

At the end of the day, a few of them told me something that touched me.

They had watched the conversations before theirs and noticed the concentration and attention I gave to each person.
That’s why they had decided to wait.
They wanted to experience that conversation too.
Thank you to everyone who waited so patiently today- and to everyone who trusted me with a little piece of their story. 🤗

And because even serious days need a little humor… Another coach suddenly came over to greet me. Apparently we had turned up wearing exactly the same top! 😂
(And no, we didn’t think of taking a photo!😄)

A long, intense and very human day.
Just the kind I like. ✨

How does it feel when I say this?
“Not everything urgent is equally important and not everything important feels urgent.”

Not so easy to apply when you’re used to being the person others can rely on, right?
Especially when you work in Financial Operations: deadlines, requests, projects, controls, escalations… You naturally develop a sense of urgency and that’s necessary.

But there’s a catch:
Urgency can slowly invade everything.

Work has a clever way of making its priorities visible: deadlines have strict dates, emails have notifications, meetings have reminders, escalations need answers…

However, some of the most important things in your life don’t work that way.

Your energy doesn’t book a meeting.
Your family doesn’t issue a deadline for your presence.
Your own needs don’t arrive marked “urgent”.
Neither does your peace of mind.

So they become surprisingly easy to postpone.
Tomorrow.
After this busy period.
When things calm down.
Except sometimes… they don’t.

That’s why I like what I call a little “self-check”.
Find a quiet moment and step out of the doing for a few minutes.

Ask yourself:

➡️ What has been getting most of my time and attention lately? Is it also what matters most to me?

➡️ What important part of my life have I been treating as if it can always wait?

And then, take it one small step further.

Give something important a place in your calendar before something urgent takes its place.

An evening with your family.
A walk.
Exercise.
Dinner with someone you love.
Or simply an hour that belongs to you.

We protect work commitments in our calendars all the time. Why not intentionally protect some of the things that matter outside work too?
Not because every minute of your private life needs to be scheduled. But because what isn’t protected can easily become what gets postponed.

The good news is that you don’t necessarily need to change everything. Sometimes becoming aware of where your time, energy and attention are going- and intentionally protecting a space for what matters- is already an important first step.
Because what matters most in our lives isn’t always what makes the most noise.

So here comes my question to you today:

What important thing could you make a little more room for this week?

Does it sometimes feel like everyone around you expects something from you? At work, at home, … And apparently my furry ...

Does it sometimes feel like everyone around you expects something from you?

At work, at home, … And apparently my furry family has expectations too!

Judging by those faces, I seem to be underperforming against these expectations this evening!

A little reminder for all of us:
You don’t have to meet every expectation placed on you.
Sometimes a “not now” is perfectly enough.

Although I’m not sure these two are open to negotiation! 😅🐾
