De zelfrijdende Maserati’s hebben al 200 kilometer afgelegd op de Limburgse snelwegen. Nu keren ze terug naar de testbaan in Sint-Truiden om de volgende fase te testen: auto’s ontwijken aan 120 kilometer per uur.

Earlier this week, DronePort had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from Japan’s House of Representatives, including former Defence Minister Gen Nakatani, together with Ambassador Osamu Izawa and representatives of the Mission of Japan to NATO. 🇯🇵🇧🇪 The visit offered an opportunity to introduce our ecosystem and exchange perspectives on drones, autonomous aviation and the growing importance of international cooperation in these fields.

During the visit, the delegation explored our control tower, aircraft hangar and Citymesh Remote Drone Operations Center, gaining a closer look at the infrastructure and capabilities available at DronePort. Thank you to the Japanese delegation, the Mission of Japan to NATO, Agoria-BSDI, Toshiba and Citymesh for contributing to this valuable visit and exchange.

🚁 A major step forward for our resident company A Drone Logistics Company (ADLC). In Singapore, ADLC successfully completed a full terminal-to-mainland cargo drone mission over Singaporean waters, operating approximately 13 km each way between Pulau Sebarok and the Maritime Drone Estate. The operation demonstrates important progress towards routine BVLOS cargo operations in one of the world’s most demanding maritime environments.

We are proud to see capabilities developed and supported within the DronePort ecosystem being deployed in real-world operations internationally. 🌍 ADLC’s progress in Singapore shows how advanced aviation technologies can move from testing and development to scalable commercial applications across global markets.

Wat een weekend bij DronePort. ✈️ De allereerste Brustem Fly-in to the Future bracht tientallen vliegtuigen, grote en kleine drones, autonome wagens en innovatieve luchtvaarttechnologie samen. Een absoluut hoogtepunt was een Europese primeur: de aankomst van de eerste Yivtol op onze site, een full-scale passagiersdrone. Samen met muziek, BBQ, foodtrucks en een geweldige sfeer liet deze eerste editie zien hoeveel enthousiasme en nieuwsgierigheid er leeft rond de toekomst van mobiliteit.

Dit is precies waar DronePort voor staat: een ecosysteem creëren waar luchtvaart, technologie en ondernemerschap samenkomen om duurzame en autonome mobiliteit te versnellen. Onze ambitie is om de infrastructuur, testomgeving en community te bieden waarin nieuwe technologieën kunnen worden ontwikkeld, gedemonstreerd en dichter bij concrete toepassingen worden gebracht. Dit weekend stonden traditionele luchtvaart, elektrisch vliegen, drones, autonome voertuigen en eVTOL-technologie zij aan zij, waardoor onze visie tastbaar werd voor professionals, enthousiastelingen en families. 🚀

What a weekend at DronePort. ✈️ The very first Brustem Fly-In to the Future event brought together dozens of aircraft, drones large and small, autonomous vehicles and cutting-edge aviation technology, topped off by a European first with the arrival of the first YIVTOL at our site, a full scale passenger drone. Combined with music, BBQ, food trucks and a great atmosphere across the site, this first edition showed just how much energy and curiosity there is around the future of mobility.

This is exactly what DronePort stands for: creating an ecosystem where aviation, technology and entrepreneurship come together to accelerate carbon-free and autonomous mobility. Our ambition is to provide the infrastructure, test environment and community where new technologies can be developed, demonstrated and brought closer to real-world applications. This weekend, traditional aviation shared the stage with electric flight, drones, autonomous vehicles and eVTOL technology, making that vision tangible for professionals, enthusiasts and families alike. 🚀

🚗 A major milestone for autonomous mobility in Europe. DronePort resident Aidoptation has received approval from the Belgian authorities to begin Level 4 autonomous driving tests on 100 kilometres of the E313 and E314 motorways, marking the first tests of their kind at highway speeds on public roads in the European Union.

Using its EdgeDrive platform and an adapted Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, Aidoptation will validate safety-critical technology in real-world traffic under strict operational protocols. This achievement reflects the strength of the Belgian innovation ecosystem and the importance of combining advanced engineering, responsible testing and close public-private collaboration. 🌍

Yesterday, DronePort was pleased to take part in the Transatlantic Defense Industry Access Forum at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. We were invited by the U.S. Embassy to join a panel discussion on U.S.-Belgium collaboration, which brought together representatives from industry and around 50 visiting U.S. companies active in UAS, C-UAS, Space, and adjacent aerospace and defense technologies. 🇧🇪🇺🇸

Our Marketing & Community Manager Seppe Oyen joined a panel discussion alongside Brian Moran of Anduril, Géry Vanhalsberghe of SONACA, and Brigadier General (ret.) Georges Franchomme of FN Browning. During the discussion, we shared our perspective on the evolution of the Belgian UAS and C-UAS ecosystem, emerging technology trends, and the key requirements for testing, certification, and operational deployment of drone technologies in Belgium.

We are grateful to the U.S. Embassy for inviting DronePort to contribute to this exchange, and to NATO for hosting the forum at its headquarters in Brussels. Our thanks also go to the fellow panelists, participating companies, and all those involved in making this discussion highly insightful.
