🌸 Vandaag is de Bloesemwalk van To Walk Again vzw van start gegaan bij DronePort in Sint-Truiden. Met droog weer aan onze zijde en de bloesems in volle bloei, vormt dit het ideale decor voor een event dat mensen samenbrengt rond doorzettingsvermogen, vooruitgang en inclusie. Deelnemers kunnen vandaag nog aansluiten tot 15.00 uur, ook zonder voorinschrijving, en elke gestapte kilometer steunt To Walk Again. Er is keuze uit 5, 12, 21 en 35 km.

🤖 De link tussen To Walk Again en DronePort is bijzonder waardevol. Bij DronePort werken we elke dag aan autonome mobiliteit, zowel op de grond als in de lucht, met een sterke focus op robotica en innovatie. To Walk Again zet technologie op een diep menselijke manier in, via staprobotica en revalidatie, om mensen opnieuw in beweging en richting meer zelfstandigheid te brengen. 🚁 De start van een nieuwe tijdperk: food delivery met drones!

De voorbije maanden en jaren hebben we, samen met onze partners, onderzocht hoe dronetechnologie kan worden ingezet om gezonde, kwalitatieve afhaalmaaltijden snel en efficiënt te leveren. Vandaag, na maanden van grondige voorbereiding en testen, zijn we enthousiast om de volgende stap aan te kondigen. DronePort, Cuisine Droneport en DroneLand bundelen hun krachten om drone based maaltijdleveringen te lanceren vanaf de DronePort-campus.

Binnen deze samenwerking is Droneland verantwoordelijk voor de BVLOS-drone-operaties en beschikt het over de vereiste vergunningen om leveringen uit te voeren binnen een straal van 10 km rond DronePort. Hierdoor is het mogelijk om maaltijden snel en veilig naar nabije locaties te transporteren. DronePort Cuisine zorgt voor het bereiden van snelle, handige en gezonde gerechten die klanten thuis eenvoudig kunnen opwarmen. Een praktisch en kwalitatief bezorgconcept van keuken tot voordeur.

Dit initiatief combineert innovatie in foodservice met geavanceerde luchtmobiliteit en opent nieuwe mogelijkheden voor lokale, duurzame leveringen.

🚁 We are proud to congratulate ADLC, a DronePort resident company, on achieving a major milestone with the acquisition of its Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) for the transport of goods, including dangerous goods, with cargo drones. This certification places ADLC among a highly select group of advanced drone operators in Europe capable of enabling self-authorised BVLOS operations, an important step forward for safe, scalable and efficient drone logistics.

As a resident company at DronePort, ADLC uses our site as an operational base for the maintenance, testing and further development of its drone systems. Seeing companies within our ecosystem reach this level of operational and regulatory excellence reflects the strength of innovation being built at DronePort and reinforces Belgium’s position in the European drone landscape. 👏

🎯 Last week we announced a strategic partnership between DronePort and Agilica, the Belgian deep-tech startup and Royal Military Academy (RMA) spin-off specializing in ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning technology for drones. As part of this collaboration, Agilica is installing a permanent test and demo setup in DronePort’s drone cage, creating a realistic operational environment where drones can hover, hold position, and land with exceptional precision, even in GNSS-degraded conditions.

🌍 This partnership brings together Agilica’s advanced navigation technology and DronePort’s state-of-the-art testing and demonstration infrastructure, including controlled airspace, integration facilities, and our unique drone cage. It is an important step in accelerating reliable autonomous drone operations for industrial inspections, maritime use cases such as landings on ships, security operations, and defense applications.

🚨 Yesterday, DronePort welcomed ASIS International Benelux Chapter for Drones & Robotics in Security, a practice focused afternoon bringing together 25 professionals from the security industry to explore how drones and unmanned systems already create real operational value today.

Participants experienced an inspiring programme combining live demonstrations, expert insights and peer exchange in a realistic operational environment.

Highlights of the afternoon included:

🦺 insights into how security is organised at DronePort as a private aerodrome
⚡️ a presentation by Stalico on mobile masts and integrations with Senhive drone detection technology and the DroneLand docking station for harsh environments

🚁 Yesterday, we hosted a demonstration day at DronePort around the second generation of Helicus’ Automated Drone Cargo Port (DCP). During live operational demos in an active airport environment, visitors saw how autonomous drone flights and fully automated ground handling come together in one logistics chain, from drone to final destination, without human intervention.

We showcased concrete applications in:
• time critical medical transport
• hospital rooftop operations
• secured industrial logistics
• controlled logistics processes

In addition, expert brainstorming sessions brought together stakeholders from defense, airports, healthcare, pharma and industry around one central question: how does drone cargo logistics evolve from pilot projects to fully operational applications?

A big thank you to Helicus and the participating drone manufacturers like Eanan and Rigitec, and all partners and professionals who joined us for the strong demonstrations, sharp insights and valuable exchanges.

Belgium once again showed it is helping lead the way in autonomous logistics.
