The blade does not forge itself. 🔥🗡️
Every sword begins as raw metal. Unformed. Unrefined. Full of potential it cannot yet express.
Then comes the fire.
Then comes the pressure.
Then comes the patient hand of the swordsmith who knows exactly how much heat is needed and exactly when to strike.
Too much fire and the blade becomes brittle.
Too little and it never hardens.
Too many strikes and it cracks.
Too few and it stays soft.
The swordsmith does not just shape metal.
They reveal what was always inside it. 🧠
This is what teaching martial arts feels like.
Every student who walks through the door carries potential they cannot yet see in themselves. My job is not to impose a shape on them. It is to find the shape that is already there and help it emerge.
Through pressure. Through challenge. Through the right amount of fire at the right moment.
The shy student who finds their voice.
The aggressive student who discovers patience.
The broken student who rebuilds from the ground up.
I have watched martial arts do this.
Again and again.
Without fail.
It does not just build fighters.
It builds people.
And that is why I keep teaching. Not for the technique. Not for the belts. Not for the competition results.
For the moment a student looks at themselves and sees something they could not see before.
That is the blade being revealed. 🐦⬛⚔️
Vigila. Custodi. Vince.
Watch. Guard. Win.
