Imiscoe IMISCOE (International Migration Research Network) is the largest interdisciplinary research network in the field of migration and diversity studies.

It currently consists of 71 research institutes from different countries and disciplines. It currently consists of 61 research institutes from different countries around the world and from various disciplines including sociology, political science, economics, law, demography, public administration, geography and history. The network's activity focuses on comparative research and publications, in t

he IMISCOE book series as well as in the journal CMS. IMISCOE's Annual Conference is a key-moment in the agendas of migration scholars. In addition, the Network contributes to the training of young researchers, while also playing an important role in the fruitful dialogue between researchers and society.

📖 Seminar series | "Integration Through Contribution: Refugees in Science and Society"

The Oulun yliopisto - University of Oulu is hosting the seminar series "Integration Through Contribution: Refugees in Science and Society", which aims to generate evidence and foster exchange on how refugees' and migrants' contributions to science, culture, and society advance integration and social inclusion.

The series will comprise eight seminars in total: four in Autumn 2026 and four in Autumn 2027, creating an ongoing platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration across disciplines and sectors.

The event, taking place at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Uniwersytet Jagielloński), from 18–20 February 2027, aims to examine 20th-century rural-to-urban migrations and their social consequences through a microhistorical lens.

Fostering an interdisciplinary dialogue, the organizers welcome contributions from historians, sociologists, anthropologists, economists, and migration scholars.
