Following the annual tradition of the Lumière Project, students from the Universities of Maastricht and Liège have been developing a collaborative project in research of the so-called cinematic landscapes An experimental film production culminating in a small exhibition, the project will focus on the connectivity and tension between narrative and landscape in film. The installation will feature bo
th excerpts from original films and the group's own material presenting coinciding narratives transposed onto conflicting landscapes. The Luminous Landscapes Project will attempt to evoke a moment of insight; contemplation on landscape as an object of the gaze. In the light of Maastricht's 2018 bid for the Cultural Capital of Europe, the project is focused on films from the Euregion. The exhibition is due to be shown in the Lumière cinema in Maastricht from 1-8 June 2012. Founding members:
