The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women ⚖ ) is a United Nations agency created in 2010 focused on the combat against gender inequality, discrimination, and violence against women. Active in over 90 countries, the agency supports governments in legal reform, economic empowerment, and international cooperation. Its mandate covers areas like women's political leadership, humanitarian action, economic independence, and peace and security negotiations.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO 🌾) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. Founded in 1945, FAO has over 194 members. Its supreme governing body, the Conference, meets biennially as a forum for member states to negotiate agreements and set policy. FAO works in over 130 countries to transform agrifood systems, ensuring food security, improving nutrition, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. By providing technical expertise, policy support, and data-driven insights, the organization empowers rural communities, enhances resilience against climate change, and strives for a world where all people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives.
The African Union (AU 🌍) is a continental body consisting of 55 member states that drive Africa’s growth and economic development. The Assembly is the supreme decision-making organ where all Heads of State and Government convene to pursue the Union’s mission of promoting unity, solidarity, and cooperation among African nations. The AU works to protect human rights, foster democratic principles, resolve conflicts, integrate regional economies, and address cross-cutting issues like climate change, gender issues, and cultural identity.
