🎶 KU Leuven sounded six centuries young — and we’re celebrating it once more! 🎶
Six centuries — that’s how long KU Leuven had existed last year. And such an anniversary calls for music. Composer Kevin Houben created a brand‑new piece, Beyond the Horizon of Thought, written especially for the Universitair Symfonisch Orkest Leuven, the Universitair Harmonieorkest Leuven (UHO vzw) and the Leuvens Universitair Koor. The work premiered on 23 and 24 April 2025.
Together with university carillonneur Luc Rombouts, Kevin Houben arranged two short fragments from the piece for the carillon automaton.
