🖥️📢 AI is already changing VET. The question is: are we preparing teachers to lead that change?

Across Europe, Vocational Education is entering a new phase. AI is becoming part of the workplace, the classroom and the way students learn. But introducing more AI tools is not, by itself, educational transformation.

👩‍🏫 For K-tuin · Apple Premium Partner and IAcademia I Academia de Inteligencia Artificial, the real transformation must be teacher-led.

teachers need more than the ability to use . They need the confidence and competences to decide when to use it, how to use it, when not to use it, and how to make sure AI strengthens learning, critical thinking and human judgement rather than replacing them.

🚀 In Spain, K-tuin and IAcademia, in partnership with UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia), have been developing a comprehensive approach to AI professional development for educators. It covers AI literacy and pedagogy, ethics, governance, privacy, assessment and educational leadership.

🖇️ A key element of their model is the link between professional development and university-certified learning pathways based on ECTS credits. This gives educators the chance to have their AI training formally recognised within a European higher-education framework.

🌍 At the EfVET Annual Conference 2026 in Brussels (21–23 October), our sponsor K-tuin wants to open the next conversation:
👉 What should a Training Framework for VET Teachers look like?

🤝 They will present what they have done in Spain, and they also want to listen, compare experiences and find European partners to co-design, pilot and validate the next stage together.

📚 Different countries. Different VET systems. One shared challenge.

👉 AI is changing VET.
👉 Teachers should lead the change.
👉 Let's build the European framework that equips them to do it.

📢 Europe needs more skilled professionals. But attracting and retaining the next generation of learners is also part of the challenge.

Today's learners have different expectations and ways of consuming content, while some traditional approaches to delivering theoretical content have changed much more slowly.

Technology, such as text to speech, can help bridge that gap by making content more accessible, flexible and engaging, without taking away from the practical learning experience that makes TVET so valuable.
