Last weekend, we braved the sweltering heat of Paris for the weapons seminar with Kacem.
The theme was "Strike the line" and boy did he do that.
Kacem once again astounded us with his unrivalled skills, his perfect technique and out-of-this-world precision – a lesson in humility for us all.
We covered: Yari, Bo, Jo, Ken, Iai, Kodachi, Kusarigama, Jutte, Nawa
Thank you to the Paris Dojo (Mohamed, Sylvestre et les autres) for the perfect organisation and warm welcome!
And our eternal gratitude to Ferry for helping us break the code of what Kacem was actually doing, we’d be lost without you.

Today we continued exploring the first level of Koto Ryu.
We started with O Gyakku. Ferry emphasized how the principle of Musuko is essential for a correct application of this kata. He then applied the technique with ken, jo, hanbo and jutte, as always demonstrating the connection with weapons.
Next we did Hosoku, Koyoku (a break, not a throw!) and finished with Sh*to

First episode of the Koto Ryu series today. Ferry went deep into the basics of the basics of the basics.
He demonstrated 3 versions of Yokuto, then 2 Iai applications and 1 Kenjutsu application of Yokuto.
