Give me rain over wind any day.
I can handle getting wet. I can put on a hat, cover up, and keep moving.
But wind? Wind changes everything.
As someone who relies heavily on hearing to navigate the world, especially when using my cane, wind can take that away from me. The constant roar makes it harder to hear traffic, crossings, or even people around me.
On a windy day, something as simple as crossing the road becomes a challenge. It’s not just annoying, it’s unsafe.
So while most people complain about a bit of drizzle, I’ll take that over a blustery day every time.
Image description:
A cartoon-style illustration of a blind woman crossing a road in strong wind. Her hair is blowing sideways as she holds her white cane in one hand and presses the other to her head to keep her hair out of her face. The wind is visibly swirling around her, and her facial expression shows frustration. Buildings and trees bend in the background as the wind whips through the scene.
