As Orpheus Instituut celebrates 30 years of pioneering artistic research, 2026 marks a major milestone in our institutional history. Behind the scenes, a comprehensive strategic realignment has transformed how we structure our research agenda, build our educational programmes, and connect with our community.

It is this deeper evolution that has driven our recent rebranding. Far from a simple cosmetic refresh, this new digital presence reflects our commitment to cultivating an independent, curiosity-driven space where artistic experimentation generates insights that only music-centred research can offer.

We are pleased to welcome Julija Bagdonavičiūtė as a visiting researcher.
During her residency, Julija Bagdonavičiūtė will develop her research on post-instrumentality, focusing on the piano as a dynamic and relational entity rather than a fixed sound-producing object. Drawing on posthumanist perspectives, her project investigates how the materiality of the instrument shapes creative expression and reconfigures the relationship between performer and instrument.

Welcome to our concert hall on 18 June for a concert by the Tanma Trio.
Tanma trio is one of our Chamber music ensembles. They were formed at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and throughout the Advanced Chamber Music Course, they delve into lesser-performed gems while refining their main repertoire.

In concert, audiences can expect a uniquely international ensemble: a Slovenian clarinetist, a Greek cellist and an Estonian pianist. Their diverse cultural backgrounds enrich their musical identity and artistic approach.
