TakeOff 2026 came to an end. At this final day, keynote speaker and IMSOGLO (https://imsoglo.eu/) alumna Itzel Lopez-Montoya sent the students off into the new academic year with some sound advice. At the closing reception afterwards, more students, colleagues and international visitors raised glasses than ever before!

Yesterday marked the end of the three-day IMSOGLO 'primer' event.

The new students in the Soils and Global Change programme (https://imsoglo.eu/) took part in a few crash courses, went on a field trip in the vicinity of Ghent and met all other partners involved in the programme (BOKU University, Aarhus Universitet en Georg-August-Universität Göttingen). The three days were rounded off with a delicious barbecue!

The stage is set for a flying start to the academic year 🔥. Best of luck to all our new Imsoglo-students!

Welcome to the new exchange students! And to no fewer than 73 students from our Global Campus in South Korea (GUGC) - the latter are spending a semester in Ghent as part of their fourth and final year of their Bachelor’s degree.

At a brisk pace, the exchange and GUGC students worked their way through a range of information sessions, complemented by a guided tour of the campus. They were warmly welcomed by the student organisations IAAS Gent and StuBio - Studentenraad Bio-ingenieurswetenschappen

In the Onboarding programme (https://www.ugent.be/bw/en/education/itc/takeoff.htm), our students get plenty of time for fun and team bonding too! From a city game and a leisurely walk in Bourgoyen, to a dance class, some football and badminton.

We hope you all know your neighbour in class by now :-)

This year, we are once again pleased to welcome some 40 students for whom VLIRUOS has provided full scholarships. The students are enrolled in our MSc programmes in Aquaculture, Nutrition and Food Systems, Food Technology and Rural Development (https://www.ugent.be/bw/en/education/scholarships/overview.htm) and received a warm welcome message from the VLIRUOS team too: https://lnkd.in/eFmPFjdN
