It was a real honour to host the Ray McMahon Memorial Symposium at Manchester Pathology 2026.

Professor McMahon inspired pathologists the world over, and in this special session we honoured his legacy in pathology and his contributions to the BDIAP and IAP community.

Professor McMahon was widely respected for his leadership, his dedication to education, and his warmth and humour. It was an honour to remember him and celebrate his impact.

A fitting tribute to a remarkable pathologist, who we all miss dearly.

✨ 2026 BDIAP Kristin Henry Lecture ✨

This year's Kristin Henry Lecture was delivered by Professor Ian Roberts, former President of the BDIAP and Professor of Cellular Pathology at the University of Oxford, on the topic "Of Dreaming Spires and Kidney Disease".

Professor Roberts presented a fascinating chronology of what can be achieved with a collaboration between dedicated renal pathologists and nephrologists for the benefit of patients with IgA nephropathy: the story of the Oxford Classification.

Thank you to Professor Roberts for a thought-provoking talk.

BDIAP x NVVP 2026

Thank you to the Dutch Society of Pathology (NVVP) for a brilliant few days in Utrecht! 🇳🇱✨

Now in our 5th year of collaboration, the BDIAP Sponsored Symposia at the 2026 Dutch Week of Pathology focused on low and high-grade neuroendocrine tumors in the gastrointestinal tract and lung.

Thank you to our speakers Aurelie Fabre, Alex Haragan, Lodewijk Brosens, Jan Erik Freund and Loes van Velthuysen for the lectures, example cases and great discussions.

It was inspiring to see colleagues engaging in the session, exchanging knowledge and sharing insights.

Congratulations to the BDIAP bursary recipients who attended the 2026 Annual USCAP meeting, this year taking place in the heart of Texas! 🤠🔬

The BDIAP USCAP Bursary, open to Resident Members who have submitted an abstract to the meeting, provides funding to support registration, travel and accommodation.

Attending the USCAP meeting promotes global collaboration, opportunity to showcase research on one of the worlds largest stages for diagnostic pathology, and networking opportunities, this year along the famous Riverwalk of San Antonio!

We are proud to support the professional development of our Members.
