❓ Did you know that we regularly change aircraft between our Castellon, Spain 🇪🇸 base and our Antwerp, Belgium 🇧🇪 base for maintenance?

🛫 🛬 We use these flights as IFR training flights, giving our students the opportunity to some real flight planning, work in different ATC environments, do different IFR procedures and gain experience along the way.

Skywings Flight Training has signed a long-term agreement with Castellón Airport in Spain to further expand its practical flight training activities. From Castellón, Skywings student pilots will complete an important part of their basic flight training, both within the integrated ATPL programme and the MPL programme operated by Skywings in collaboration with Brussels Airlines.

Skywings Flight Training expands its operations in Spain with a permanent training base at Castellón Airport, providing ATPL and MPL student pilots with additional capacity for practical flight training.

The final flights on the Diamond Aircraft Da42 💎 take our students to some further away destinations such as Bremen 🇩🇪.

Here is where it all comes together: 📄flight preparation, ⏱️ instrument procedures, 🕹️managing the complex twin engined Da42, 🎙️coordinating with air traffic control, ⛽️ fuel management.

And the views 👀 above the clouds? ☁️ They are the reward 🎁

🛫 To be a pilot means to be away from home while others celebrate a birthday, to wake up while others are still asleep, to continue concentrating while others would be exhausted and ready to give up, to go through six-monthly exams and assessments while others are taking it easy, to form a new team every day while others enjoy the comfort of knowing who they work with.

✋Being a pilot is not for everyone.

💙 But for those who are ready to make sacrifices, put in the hard work and enjoy the challenge, we are there to train them.

🥹 Seeing our graduates join their first airline, transition to widebody and longhaul operations, become a captain, star in a great .be tv show about , or join Skywings again as an instructor, is always a moment of absolute pride.

🇧🇪 Welcome in OO-SKT! Skywing’s latest addition to the fleet: a Da42 VI Twin engine training aicraft that will eventually replace our older Twin Star, OO-SKW.

🤫 This newer generation aircraft is more performant but also a lot more silent than its predecessors. Therefor, the aircraft can be used for touch and go training in , a major advantage compared to older versions.

🌩️ The aircraft also has a weather radar, enabling it to better navigate en-route weather on longer flights, and enabling our students to learn how to operate this equipment as well.
