John Wilfrid Huggonson, died today 17th June 1915 by a possible sniper. A long way to come to meet a fitting hero. Next stop is to the actual battlefields. 🚇🫡

After years of wanting to visit for the Last Post at Menin Gate I have arrived. Being unable to see Preston's War missing was disappointing owing to the scaffolding but the whole memorial is to be refurbished. I guess I'll visit again when it's completed in 2027 for it's Centenary. 🚂
