What is background noise? Recently we gained some interesting insights, again.

The context: a project where we are monitoring stability and potentially disturbing factors on and around a construction site 🏗️ in the center of . This includes vibrations...

What we noticed:
➡️ a strong decrease in vibration levels on March 7th and 8th 2026
➡️ vibrations at a frequency in the range 16 - 20 Hz almost entirely disappeared

Did the works we supervise change 🤷 ? No.

But … others started working, and as a result train traffic in the N-S axis through Brussels came virtually to a halt 🚆.

Systems are almost never isolated. is the key! 🧮
