ENQA - European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education

ENQA disseminates information, experiences and good practices in the field of QA in HE to European QA agencies, public authorities and HEIs.

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) is an umbrella organisation which represents its members at the European level and internationally, especially in political decision making processes and in co-operations with stakeholder organisations. The Association aims to maintain and enhance the quality of European higher education at a high level, and to act as a major driving force for the development of quality assurance across all the Bologna signatory countries. ENQA contributes to this goal especially by promoting European co-operation in the field of quality assurance in higher education and disseminating information and expertise among its members and towards stakeholders in order to develop and share good practice and to foster the European dimension of quality assurance.

🎙️ Yesterday, ENQA took part in the 4th annual conference of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) in Prishtina. The conference focused on the topic "Internal Quality Assurance in Higher Education Institutions: From Evaluation to Quality Culture".

ENQA Director Anna Gover delivered a keynote presentation on European perspectives on the role and achievements of quality assurance agencies in strengthening quality culture within higher education institutions.

ENQA Vice-President Patrick Van den Bosch and Board Member Péter Levente Lakatos took part in a panel discussion exploring the role of QA agencies in strengthening higher education quality.

☑️ Last week, the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC) hosted a site visit for an ENQA-coordinated targeted review.

The principal aim of a targeted review is to provide the agencies that have successfully undergone at least two full ESG reviews with an alternative way to assessing their compliance with the ESG.

✅ ENQA is attending the European Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) network meeting

As part of the project, co-funded by the European Union, ENQA has organised an online round-table this week with representatives of various stakeholder organisations from trans-national education (TNE) receiving countries.

🔎 During the meeting, ENQA has presented the results of its mapping exercise and ensured that stakeholders' voices were properly represented in the discussions and further work of the project.

This round-table was organized jointly with the first meeting of the ROQA-TNE International Advisory Board, composed of representatives from EHEA and international partners. 🌎🌍🌏

✅ ENQA is hosting an international roundtable on transnational education and an international advisory board meeting in the context of the project (Robust Quality Assurance of Transnational Education).

✅ ENQA is hosting a meeting of the working group on cross-border quality assurance (CBQA) under the SIQA project (Support for the Enhancement-Oriented Implementation of the Quality Assurance Key Commitment).

✅ ENQA is taking part in the meeting of the Steering Committee for the revision of the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes.

✅ ENQA is attending the second European Commission webinar on applying for the European Degree Label

☑ This week, the Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE, Croatia) has hosted a site visit for a targeted review coordinated by ENQA.

Targeted reviews focus on the agencies’ remaining challenges in reaching compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), while at the same time further strengthening the enhancement aspect of the review, thus offering more resource-mindful review process.

🎙️ This week, ENQA is attending the “The Future of Higher Education: Sharing knowledge and supporting implementation for a stronger Bologna Process” Conference hosted by the European Higher Education Area in Bucharest (Romania).

ENQA President Cristina Ghitulica is speaking during sessions on the ESG and European Approach update, and future-proofing the Bologna key commitments.

ENQA Senior Policy and Project Coordinator Elena Cirlan has taken part in a panel discussion on clearing bottlenecks in implementing Bologna reforms, together with representatives from EUA, EURASHE, ESU and EQAR.
