This is the official page of the European Union's "We Love Eating" project, that aims to show citizens how enjoyable eating healthily can be.
Along with healthy eating, the project also promotes getting more physical activity - always in an enjoyable way. Visit www.we-love-eating.eu. The project is for everyone, but it is especially aimed towards three groups who are at very important stages of their lives where eating healthily and getting enough physical activity is of crucial importance – children, pregnant women and older people. Th
e philosophy behind We Love Eating is that eating healthily is about much more than getting the right nutrients in the right proportions at the right time. It also has to do with good times and the comforting rituals and social bonds that come from shopping for food, cooking and eating together. In other words, it’s about what we eat but also about how we eat, where we eat, and with whom we eat. The project is currently in its pilot phase, which will last through 2015. During this time, seven cities in seven countries across Europe will participate in the project. From Banská Bystrica, Slovakia; Bradford, UK; Cluj Napoca, Romania; Deventer in the Netherlands; Granollers, Spain; Poznań, Poland, to Roncq, France. Each city will develop the most appropriate activities for the specific needs of its community and use the We Love Eating tools (website, an App, leaflets, posters, a card game, etc.) to disseminate the key messages of the project. These key messages are:
• Enjoy shopping for a healthy meal
• Enjoy cooking
• Enjoy eating together
• Enjoy drinking water
• Enjoy colourful fruits & vegetables
• Enjoy physical exercise
Throughout the pilot phase, the project will be monitored and evaluated by external experts to identify lessons learnt and good practices. Particular attention will be devoted to the information and participation of vulnerable groups. This will help promote its replication in other European cities in the future, and assist decision-makers in developing better policy. General information

The project may have finished … but the message lives on!
The great work of We Love Eating, Deventer has inspired the neighbouring Dutch city of Raalte to create their own healthy activities for children, seniors and disadvantaged groups.
‘We Love Eating’ has now come to a successful close, but its approach will continue, as new cities will meet the challenge of promoting healthy lifestyles among children, pregnant women and older people. http://bit.ly/1S5PBPG
