Dear friends,

Our last training before summer will be next Monday 29/06.

After that, during July and August, there will be NO training.

The first training after summer holiday will be on Wednesday September 2nd (02/09/2026).

We wish you all a nice summer. Stay active and see you soon.

This Saturday we gathered at Butokukan for a very special keiko and sayonara party for Pekka Nurminen (kendo 6th dan renshi, iaido 1 dan).
After many years as part of our dojo, Pekka is retiring and moving back to Finland. He has been an important part of Butokukan for a long time, and we have all been very happy—and grateful—to share so many keikos, seminars, conversations and good moments together with him.
We celebrated the occasion the best way we know: with keiko, followed by speeches, presents, food, drinks, and many great conversations together.
As we said on Saturday: this is not goodbye — just see you soon.
Luckily for us, Pekka is already planning to return to Brussels for kendo seminars later this year, so we are very much looking forward to seeing him again soon in the dojo.
A big thank you to everyone who came and made the evening so special. It was wonderful to share this moment together.

⚔️ This past weekend we had the annual Winter Seminar in Brussels. Kiyono Sensei and Fujiwara Sensei were the teachers of Kendo seminar. Oda Sensei was teaching Iaido.
