Our students truly shone at the Neverland and High School Musical performances with Panda All-Stars! The performances were a huge success, with an incredible cast of 100 children, including 15 BJAB students, lighting up the stage. ✨
Well done to all the fairies, mermaids, lost kids, guardians of the forest, Wendy, Michaela, the wonderful stage crew — and of course Mr Wilkinson, our Music teacher and Panda’s musical director, as well as Miss Angela, our amazing catering manager and stage manager at Pandas!. 💫👏
We are proud to celebrate our students’ outstanding achievements on stage, a true reflection of our commitment to nurturing every child’s confidence, creativity and potential within a caring and dynamic learning environment.
Thank you .cunliffe.photography for the picture.

Year 9 students organised a litter pick around the block to help spread awareness about litter in the streets and clean up the local environment. In a short 25 minutes, they collected a total of 170 pieces of litter! 🚮 This project is part of the Year 9 Global Perspectives curriculum where students have to identify a local issue and take action!

We were delighted to welcome Mr Dodge, our newly appointed Head of Primary, to BJAB this week!
It was wonderful for him to meet our families and experience daily life across both sites. From greeting pupils and students in the morning, to connecting with parents at a special “Drop-in Coffee with the new Head of Primary” and engaging with numerous ‘Stay and Play’ and ‘Book Looks’, it was a really useful and meaningful visit.
Mr Dodge also enjoyed the transition morning in Primary and meeting prospective families touring the school—getting a real feel for what makes BJAB so special.
As he shared:
“I am delighted to be at BJAB this week to be able to start building relationships with the children and the staff and to learn more about what's so special about the school. It has been a fantastic week! I am looking forward to starting in August.”
A true BJAB welcome! Thank you to our staff, students and families for making it so memorable. 💙

Year 4 visited the stunning Meise Botanic Garden 🌿 where their studies of rainforests truly came to life! They explored a variety of tropical plants, discovered fascinating species and even set off on mini expeditions. The greenhouses even created a truly immersive rainforest experience 🌧️🌱
💡Trips like this are such an important part of our educational approach, giving pupils the chance to connect their classroom learning with the world around them and build confidence through real‑life discovery.

🐞 Our Year 2 pupils have been busy exploring the fascinating world of insects during their French lessons!
Working collaboratively, students created this fantastic class project showcasing a variety of beautifully illustrated insects, while developing their vocabulary and teamwork skills along the way. 🐝
We are incredibly proud of the creativity, independence and collaboration shown throughout the project, which pupils managed almost entirely on their own.
At BJAB, we love seeing our learners combine language learning with creativity and curiosity to produce such thoughtful and engaging work.

Our Year 3 pupils explored the vibrant world of street art through a creative trip around Brussels.
In Project lessons, pupils have been learning about street artists from across the globe, including Banksy, Keith Haring and Maya Hayuk, while exploring how art can transform public spaces and communicate powerful messages.
Inspired by the city around them, students used a range of artistic techniques to create their own mixed media pieces, combining printed imagery with pastels, papers, pencils, pens and collage materials to produce layered and expressive artwork full of creativity and individuality.

At their latest meeting, the BJAB Student Parliament representing Years 7–11 brought energy and purpose to shaping the next student survey. Drawing on ideas gathered from their peers, they carefully prioritised and debated key questions - ensuring every student’s voice is truly heard 🗣️✨
📣 This regular survey continues to drive meaningful change across the school, with several actions already introduced as a direct result. Previous surveys have led to the introduction of a meaningful merit system in Years 7 - 11, more water fountains being installed around the building and even the opening of more spaces at break times! A brilliant reminder that your voice really does make a difference.
The group also turned their attention to fundraising, sharing creative ideas before voting on a favourite. The winning proposal is now in the works… but can you guess what they chose?
💬👏 We are incredibly proud to see student voice thriving at BJAB!

A huge welcome back to performance poet Paul Delaney, who returned to BJAB for a fantastic day of poetry workshops with Years 1–6!
Our younger pupils explored the theme 'I Love', creating thoughtful and imaginative poems inspired by the people, places and things that matter most to them. Meanwhile, Years 5 and 6 took part in an ‘I Wonder’ workshop, asking everything from life’s biggest questions to imagining the innermost thoughts of a gorilla!
Paul also led an animated assembly packed with poetry, performance and even a showcase of his incredible talent on the piano, captivating pupils and staff alike.
At BJAB, we are proud to provide enriching creative experiences that inspire confidence, curiosity and self-expression across the school community.

Year 8 visited the Brussels Sewer Museum as part of their Geography topic on regeneration in Brussels 💧
👀 Having explored the historic covering of the Senne River in class, pupils had the unique opportunity to discover more about the city’s transformation and even see part of the river flowing beneath the streets of Brussels in its subterranean “tomb”.
The visit also supported their learning on the water cycle and flood management, bringing classroom learning to life through hands-on exploration in the heart of the city.
At BJAB, we value opportunities for pupils to connect classroom learning with the real world through engaging and memorable experience 📸
