Tessura is happy to announce a new cycle of The School for Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Education (SME) Program, as well as the start of The School for Body-Mind Centering® Infant Developmental Movement Education (IDME) and The School for Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner Program. We thank all who made it possible for this process to emerge...!
We look forwards to continuing offering these programs in Brussels, while some of the SME and IDME program courses will also be offered in Antwerp and Den Haag.
Registration for the current SME, new SME, IDME and Practitioner programs, as well as for the Introduction workshops (Thu June 25 2026, Den Haag and Sat, Sun Nov 7&8 2026, Antwerp), is open.

While Brussels fluctuates between sun and clouds, blossoming and containing, we are welcoming staff Jens Johannsen, Christian Meier, Tal Halevi, Eva Maes, Kristina Neirynck, Eileen Heaney, Anneleen Keppens. Tessura – School for Body-Mind Centering® Offering licensed School for Body-Mind Centering® programs in the Benelux Union, beginning in 2025 with the Somatic Movement Educator program in Brussels.

Coming Spring, we continue the School for Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Education program exploring the major chemical governing system of the body, our endocrine system, and the nervous system. You can consult our calendar at www.tessura.org

In the early seventies, Swedish photographer and scientist Lennart Nilsson captured images of hormones, as he ventured out to visualizing areas of ourselves, of our own physical anchor, our body which until that time were considered to be 'not photographable'.

Accompanied by this image of progesteron, capturing beautifully the crystallized quality of the endocrine system, we dedicate ourselves, also in 2026, to the easing into the relationship with ourselves and the worlds within and around.

Thank you to all beautiful students, visitors, including the very small ones, Theo and Elis, assistants Anneleen Keppens, Elisa Robet, Kristina Neirynck, and teachers Emanuela Passerini, Ferenc Kálmán, Otto Ramstad, Eva Maes for a journey through two intense courses of the Somatic Movement Education-program of School for Body-Mind Centering which are deeply connected to our developmental stories, to our first language: movement.
We leave our sweet Brussels home Forest Lighthouse for now, and will return in Spring...🙏

Relating to Brussels Fall-Earth and -heaven, we entered the 'Primitive Reflexes, Righting Reactions, and Equilibrium responses'- course of the School for Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Education program, organized by Tessura.

As we enter the second part of the Organ System-course, we near the end of the first Summer of the School for Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Education Program in the Benelux, organized by Tessura. Yesterday we celebrated the 1st month's birthday of Tessura's courses, with a delicious 'plantbased' meal, prepared by Alexander Gershberg in the Forest Lighthouse-kitchen. We celebrate all encounters with students, teachers...and the vast spaces within and around us.

From July 2025 onwards, the School for Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Education program is organized in Brussels, by Tessura. Tessura is dedicated to also support awareness of dance and movement practices in general.
Like tiles of a mosaic, Tessura desires to create space for an overarching as well as peculiar image to emerge: an image rooted in the experience of the moving body.
On Friday July 25, 19h-20h30 at Forest Lighthouse, we organize a ‘mid-soma night’
Appreciating the presence of students as well as Diego Pizarro, Wilma Vesseur, Christian Meier and Eva Maes, Tessura is inviting you to come and sit down, rest and move, speak and listen, while we inquire the meaning of the word ‘soma’ in relation to our work and passions.
When we trace down certain Sanskrit roots of the work soma, we learn that ‘soma’ appears as metaphor for mind; as motivating force; as substance constituent of all living beings. Soma, materialized as substance ánd act which exceeds the living body.
Can a moment of shared dance and conversation inspire us, while we branch in and out of the fields of dance and movement education, research, and therapy, in and out of the realm of artistic research and creation?

In 1993, Nancy Stark Smith and Lisa Nelson, the dancing editors/editing dancers of Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen's 'Sensing, Feeling, Action' wrote in their preface to that book: ' Fastidious in its detail and encompassing in its scope, BMC provides a frame for studying the complexity of the living, moving body in all aspects of life.'

As the Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Education program, organized by Tessura has started, we notice the richness ánd intensity of that study. After the Senses and Perception-course, and the first three days of Skeletal System-course, we all, including our physioballs, can enjoy a day off!!!
