SusChem ETP The European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry

Launched in 2004, SusChem is a joint initiative between a number of organisations from the chemistry and biotechnology industry sectors. It gathers industry, academia and governmental policy groups to address Research and Innovation challenges specific to these sectors, as well as the societal issues to which they respond (ageing population, smart infrastructure etc.). SusChem facilitates the development of long-term research and innovation plans for action both at European and national level. SusChem has also established a network of National Technology Platforms in 12 countries across Europes: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Slovenian, Romanian, Czech Republic, Poland, Netherlands and Switzerland. These platforms work on sustainable chemistry initiatives at two levels: firstly, within their own country, supporting national engagement in EU collaborative projects and programmes, and secondly, by contributing to transnational collaborations.
