At ISB, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Through our Community Engagement Programme, our students actively connect with the world around them – learning to lead with active empathy, cultural respect, and a deep dedication to service. 👏

Throughout the 2025-26 school year, over 470 students collaborated with 27 local community partners. Together, they dedicated approximately 6,400 volunteer hours supporting initiatives ranging from animal welfare and senior care to refugee assistance, environmental sustainability, and support for low-income families. Beyond their time, our students directly provided 7,800 meals, hundreds of care kits, and essential supplies to those in need.

We are immensely proud to see our students grow as compassionate global leaders who actively give back to the communities we share. 🙏✨

Celebrating Another ISB Student-Athlete! 🏀

Starting high school at a new international school can be a big transition, especially when you’re joining a new community.

Rebecca, who has just started at ISB, is looking forward to being part of a community that encourages her both on and off the court.

Rebecca has been playing basketball since she was six and a half, following in her grandmother’s footsteps. She currently plays for Royal Castors Braine U19 / Regional 2 and has already earned recognition including MVP of the AWBB U14 Cup Finals in 2025, as well as MVP at the ISSC Varsity 2026 and NECIS JV 2026 competitions. She also won third place with Movistar Estudiantes at the Gúdar Javalambre Torneo de Navidad. 👏

As she begins her ISB journey, we’re excited to see how she continues to grow, both as a student and as an athlete. Welcome to ISB, Rebecca!✨

55 years later, back where it all began.

On Saturday, we had the joy of welcoming back members of the Class of 1971 for a very special 55-year reunion. For some, it was their first time stepping back onto campus in 55 years – making the day even more meaningful.

Walking through the school again, sharing old stories, remembering friends and teachers, and seeing familiar places through the eyes of the people who once called ISB home made for a truly special day.

So much has changed over the past 55 years, but one thing remains the same: the connections made at ISB stay with you.

Here’s to 55 years of memories, friendship, and being part of the ISB community!

A journey built over years of dedication, hard work and a love for the game.

🏑 Gabriel has been playing hockey from a young age and has followed the Belgian Hockey Federation’s pathway from district teams through U15 and U16, and now to the U18 National Team, where he is continuing his second year at this level.

Along the way, he has had the opportunity to train and compete at an increasingly high level. His achievements have also been recognised by the Government of Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, celebrating his commitment as a promising athlete and his outstanding achievements in hockey.👏

Behind every selection and every match are countless hours of training, determination, and the challenge of balancing life as a student-athlete.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Gabriel’s journey and to see where his passion, ambition and hard work will take him next. ⭐️Congratulations, Gabriel!

Science is FUN at ISB!

Our new Lower School Science Lab is giving students the space to get curious and hands-on with their scientific explorations.

From using microscopes and lasers to designing experiments and analysing data, students are learning to ask questions, solve problems, and explore the world around them 🌎

✨What a fantastic way to begin the new school year!

Our Welcome Back Family BBQ – one of ISB’s most popular community events – was a huge success, bringing new and returning families together for an afternoon of food, fun, and connection. This year, we also introduced our first-ever Flea Market, and it was a real hit!🚀

Community connection is at the heart of ISB, and it was wonderful to see families reconnecting, forming new friendships, and celebrating the start of an exciting year together.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Family Association and all the volunteers who helped make this wonderful event possible!👏

75 years of ISB, seen through the eyes of our Grade 5 students.✨

How do you capture 75 years of a school in a single logo? That’s the creative challenge our Grade 5 students have been exploring as they design their own interpretations of the ISB 75th anniversary logo. Along the way, they are learning more about ISB’s history and reflecting on the people, stories and milestones that have shaped our school.

🎨 From the symbols and shapes they choose to the colours and ideas behind them, each design offers a unique perspective on what ISB means to our students.

Our new School Director, Dr. Allan Weston, stopped by the classroom to meet our young designers, hear the thinking behind their creations, and see their ideas taking shape.

There may be one anniversary, but our students are showing us that there are countless ways to imagine and celebrate it!🚀
