The illustration of Einstein on Freud's couch, which Hans-Jürgen Wirth mentioned during his lecture at the 10th EPCUS today, was actually posted via the EPCUS Instagram account on the occasion of the previous conference. The natural interrelatedness of last year's theme, "Why War", to this year's theme, "Loss & Hope", is thus expressed effectively. Together, this reflects on the historical moment we are currently experiencing.
A heartfelt thank you to all the EPCUS presenters! Also, many thanks to all participants. Let’s keep going strong!

It is a film that delighted and inspired Kurosawa, Orson Welles, Martin Scorsese, John Ford, and remained constant on the lists of the greatest of all time. A film that has not ceased to fascinate us since 1937 – Jean Renoir's "La Grande Illusion" always resurfaces when faced with the contradictions of wartime. Why?
On the second day of EPCUS, on October 4th, 2024 at 5:30 PM, Anne Patterson, a psychoanalyst, Fellow of the British Psychoanalytical Society, and co-director of the European Psychoanalytic Film Festival (EPFF), will hold a presentation that will problematise some notions to this masterpiece and its eternal relevance.
