In the first Cycle of the Open Lens Study Group, we are looking at and how it presents itself in ourselves and our practices. As space holders, we need to consider the lived experience of our participants and the identities that we bring into the space.
On this and much more, we will reflect on during the five weeks of Cycle 1 - Intersectionality. The applications are open now: ➡️ https://buff.ly/3suv8KP

In my practice as a facilitator and trainer, diversity and inclusion are key themes in both my approach and the topic I work on. I was always wondering how other practitioners work with these themes.

The Open Lens Study Group is an invitation to anyone holding space for learning and growth. We want to collectively explore and reflect on meanings of diversity, inclusion, identity, power, and privilege for ourselves and in our practices. In this, the intention is to co-create an interactive learning space exploring who we are in relation to the different bodies in the spaces that we hold.

Ever arrived in the session room, and there was no material to be found anywhere? Did you plan to work with sticky-notes and your only got card stock? Did You and your client have a very different understanding of the meaning of the items on your materials list?
Over time, I have developed my Facilitator Survival Kit to prepare for these and similar situations. It includes the most basic materials I need to run any of my activities & methods. It saved me more than once!
