Stop asking: 'How do we use GenAI in classrooms?'

Start asking: 'Whether, when, and on what terms should we use it?'

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ According to Wayne Holmes, Professor of Critical Studies of Artificial Intelligence and Education at UCL, we need a more reflective approach to generative AI in education.

The problem is that GenAI feels human. It's conversational, confident, and intuitive. This makes students and teachers overly reliant on it. The solution is building critical thinking: education needs media literacy for the AI age! ๐Ÿค–

How can schools make informed decisions? The SELFIE tools offer structured reflection on GenAI readiness, helping schools and teachers consider goals, safeguards, risks and potential benefits.

๐Ÿ’ก In 2024, 27% of young people aged 15โ€“29 lived in overcrowded housing.

Inadequate housing is not only uncomfortable, but also affects mental health, educational outcomes and future prospects.

The report shows that the situation is not inevitable: countries with strong social housing investments and targeted support policies have lower overcrowding rates.

The question isn't whether solutions exist, it's whether policymakers prioritise them.

Today, on the , we celebrate the vital role parents play in giving children the best possible start in life.

But families also need support. High-quality Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) helps parents balance work and family life while supporting children's development from an early age.

Did you know that only six EU countries, plus Norway, guarantee every child a place in ECEC immediately after parental leave? Most of Europe still has a long way to go to provide this level of support to families.
