🌍🇪🇺 On today’s International Women's Day, EcoMediaEurope proudly publishes a remarkable research result for the first time.
👩‍👦 Mothers are the most important conversation partners when 14-year-olds decide about their educational pathway.

The study by education researcher Norbert Aichholzer clearly shows that young people mainly discuss their educational and career decisions within their families.

With 22.85%, mothers are the most important discussion partners, followed by fathers (20.97%). Friends (18%) and teachers (around 9%) play a significantly smaller role.

A similar pattern appears when young people look for information about the Austrian education model “Apprenticeship with Matura”: parents are by far the most important source of information, ahead of teachers, career guidance and peers.

These findings highlight an important message:
👉 Women – especially mothers – play a crucial role in shaping the educational decisions of the next generation.

As a European education network, EcoMediaEurope is proud to officially publish these results today for the first time.
On International Women’s Day, this insight underlines how strongly women influence educational opportunities and future pathways for young people across Europe. 🇪🇺✨

ecoMEDIAeurope.net was represented today by Norbert Aichholzer at an international OECD discussion round.
Thank you to OECD Education and Skills for this inspiring webinar and the valuable international discussion on how educational research can better support schools and policymaking.
From a Dual VET perspective, strengthening the connection between research, schools and industry is particularly important for addressing global skills shortages and youth unemployment.
Since 2003, EcoMedia Europe has been actively working on the concept of the digital school of tomorrow, bringing together educational institutions, researchers and industry partners from across Europe to develop innovative approaches for vocational education and training.
The conference focused on current international developments in educational research, new approaches to evidence-based education policy and strategies for integrating research results more effectively into school practice. Key topics included future skills, digital transformation in education and stronger cooperation between research, education systems and the labour market.

For the first time, he has provided scientific evidence that social media and similar influences are not the most decisive factors. The mother has the greatest impact.
Here is the link to the texts, which will soon be translated into various national languages and published as a book.
He is currently looking for co-authors to collaborate and further develop this work together.
