Looking back at last week’s Alumni Star Lectures—what a success! ⭐️ So many alumni joined to hear Professor Marjan Peeters discuss The European Green Deal: Only a Green Dream? She explored the EU’s legislative efforts to combat climate change and biodiversity loss, highlighting both progress and challenges. The lecture sparked a dynamic discussion, which continued over networking drinks. A great evening of learning and connection!

On June 28th, as part of the UM Brussels Hub’s mission to support and build networks and to facilitate community-led meetings, the Hub hosted the Globalization and Law Network event titled “The Day after Public.Resource.Org v Commission: A New Era for the Openness and Copyright of Standards Referenced in EU Law?”
This event was designed to bring together a diverse range of stakeholders to discuss and analyze the legal and practical implications of this judgment. The discussion delved into the implications for the accessibility of standards referenced in EU law and examined the impact on the copyright framework governing standardisation organisations. Furthermore, it considered the practical implications for the European Standardisation System and its stakeholders.
