We are proud to share that our founder, Dr. Daniel Page, will be presenting at the ARCA Virtual Learning Institute 2026 alongside Dr. Daniel Balva on May 21st.
Their session, “Disability Advocacy in Counseling Practice: Cross-Cultural and Ethical Perspectives on Implementation and Interventions,” draws on comparisons between the United States and South Africa to explore how context, resources, and history shape disability advocacy at the individual, community, and policy level.
The session will also examine how evidence-based interventions and technology-enabled service delivery can expand access to psychoeducation, skills training, and support in underserved settings.
This is one of several sessions running through May as part of the ARCA VLI series, with recordings available through July 15.
Registration is open through May 22 at https://arcaweb.org/conferences/

Daniel had the privilege of travelling to Belgium to run a two-day train-the-trainer LifeMatters programme at the Hôpital des Enfants - Kinderziekenhuis (Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital) in Brussels.
Over one full weekend, a multidisciplinary group of paediatricians, psychologists, dietitians, physiotherapists, endocrinologists and other professionals came together to dive into LifeMatters, the psychological skills intervention that was the focus of my PhD at The University of Queensland.
LifeMatters brings together CBT, sport psychology and positive psychology to teach practical psychological skills that can be used across disciplines and modalities. The feedback was incredibly encouraging, and many shared that they will start integrating LifeMatters principles and activities into their services with children, adolescents and families.
The passion in the room was unforgettable. Choosing to spend a whole weekend learning how to better support young people says a lot about this team.
A huge thank you to Kawthar, whose vision and organisation made the training possible, and who first found my work through a LifeMatters presentation, reached out on LinkedIn, and even read my full PhD. I am also deeply grateful to Cécile and her family for welcoming Kelsey and me into their home and making Brussels feel like home.
Belgium is a wonderfully diverse country with fantastic people, culture, architecture, history and food. I left feeling hopeful about the impact this team will have as they bring evidence based psychological skills into their daily practice.
At Psyche Innovations, we focus on making psychological skills accessible for individuals and organisations. If your hospital or organisation is interested in multidisciplinary training in LifeMatters or psychological skills more broadly, we would be very happy to connect.

We’re honoured to receive this thoughtful testimonial from Cape Town Counsellor, a dedicated counsellor working on the front lines of mental health in South Africa. Claire shares how the Psyche: Mental Health app is helping bridge the gap in care, offering accessible, evidence-based support between sessions for those who need it most. Her words are a powerful reminder of why this work matters:

We’re proud to partner with organisations like Maties Gym, who are committed to fostering a healthier, more open workplace culture.
As Anelle Goldblatt, Operations Manager at Maties Gymnasium, shared:
“Partnering with your team has brought valuable mental health resources to our staff members in an accessible and engaging way. Most importantly, it’s created a safe space to talk about sensitive topics and raised awareness around mental well-being.”
It’s inspiring to see the positive shift in how staff approach mental health when given the tools, language, and space to do so.
Together, we’re not just raising awareness; we’re building resilient, empowered communities.
