Future Classroom Lab by European Schoolnet The Future Classroom Lab (FCL) was created by European Schoolnet with the support of over 30 Ministries of Education and industry partners.

The Future Classroom Lab (FCL) is an inspirational learning environment challenging visitors to rethink the role of pedagogy, technology and design in their classrooms. It aims to help visualise flexible learning spaces that enable innovative and creative styles of teaching and learning. It is a physical, reconfigurable space composed of an interactive classroom and an open space including five different zones, each of which is equipped with specific furniture and technology. FCL is a meeting place for teachers, researchers, ICT providers and policy-makers to rethink pedagogy, technologies and classroom design. FCL organises teacher workshops, special meetings for industry representatives and policymakers, and project-specific events. Find out more at http://fcl.eun.org

Teachers, how do you assess digital skills in your classroom?

The European Digital Education Hub (EDEH) wants to hear directly from you! Ahead of the upcoming European Commission guidance on digital skills assessment, we are inviting educators to share their classroom realities, challenges, and insights.

🚀 Who can join?
Primary, secondary, and initial VET teachers of any subject, as well as teacher trainers.

When are the online sessions?
☑️ Session 1: Tuesday, 27 October 2026 (late afternoon, 1–1.5 hrs)
☑️ Session 2: Thursday, 5 November 2026 (late afternoon, 2 hrs)

Your practical feedback will directly help ensure the European guidance is usable, inclusive, and grounded in real-world teaching.

Ever heard of the Future Classroom Lab? It's a way of designing a classroom around six different zones, each built for a different way of learning: Interact, Exchange, Investigate, Create, Present, and Develop.🎒

Instead of one room with rows of desks, you get six modes – sharing ideas out loud, asking real questions, making things, working together, learning at your own pace, and taking part in whole-class discussion.🚀

The European Commission is launching an open public invitation for education technology and digital education solution providers to participate in the EdTech Avenue exhibition at the 7th Education & Skills Summit 2026 on 20 November 2026, under the theme “Schools for Tomorrow”.

The Summit will bring together Ministers of Education, European institutions, policymakers, school leaders, teachers, students, educational organisations, educational technology providers and civil society to explore how Europe’s schools can become more inclusive, innovative, collaborative and future-ready, while strengthening basic skills, empowering the teaching profession and helping build a safe, people-centred and digitally independent education system in Europe.

For the first time, the Summit will offer this year a fully interactive experience, bringing the “School for tomorrow” to life beyond the stage. The EdTech Avenue will form an integral part of the School for tomorrow, enabling participants to discover practical solutions that address today’s educational challenges through hands-on demonstrations, so that the Summit participants can learn about them in an interactive way.
